As you can see from my post count I’m new, although I’ve been lurking for ages 
My question is, are there any UK Dopefest thingies, and if so where and when are they held???

Most often, Dopefest threads will be found in MPSIMS. If you could search, I’d advise searching in MPSIMS under “Londope”. Since you can’t, I did, but it doesn’t look like there’s one in the works at this time. The last doper gathering was Wendell Wagner’s European Tour or something like that, in mid September.
Keep an eye out, though.
There may be a factual answer, but threads about social gatherings generally go in MPSIMS, so I’ll move this thread over there. Also be sure to note the Disclaimer concerning real life meetings of members

We’ve a Londope planned at the end of November (there’s a thread about it somewhere in MPSIMS).
Where abouts (roughly) are you located in the UK - as those of us in London tend to meet up on a semi-regular basis.
Most if not all of the LonDopes are talked about on NADS *
*NADS is a board that was set up by Dopers but has no connection to The Straight Dope at all other than sharing a lot of common users.
