Quick, what's your current earworm?

Aca ebtre nos, Vicente Fernandez

Maroon 5 has a new song out.* Memories* has been playing in my head for days.

I enjoy the song, but I’d be ok with a break from it.

Fast Car by Tracy Chapman

It’s my own fault.

Saw the Hand Washing Songs thread, took about 3 nanoseconds to think of the Baby Shark song. It’s such an obvious choice. Had to go to Youtube to get the link and time some of it.

Yep. My fault and my fault alone. Wait … Anny Middon started that thread. Maybe this a deliberate attempt to get that earworm into my head. Yeah, I can blame someone else now! As a great person once said: [del]“The buck stops here.”[/del] “It’s not my fault.”

Now I’ve graduated from “Crazy Horses” to one of the best top 40 songs I think I’ve ever heard: The Way by a band called Fastball. The video itself is meh, but the tune is way too catchy for its own good - going on at least a week now. All the time. Kinda sad - the true story behind it - probably giving me thoughts I shouldn’t be entertaining, but damn that melodious chorus in (I think) a minor key, in particular. Quite hooky.

Deterioratafrom National Lampoon. All because Desiderata is appearing in one of my FB groups. Deteriorata is an excellent spoof on Desiderata.

It’s been making me feel like the worst around. :frowning:

Growing On Me by The Darkness. I’m happy enough with that so far; we’ll see how it lasts…

We just saw and enjoyed Ford vs. Ferrari, which has this great cover of Tony Joe White’s “Polk Salad Annie.” I’ve listened to at least a dozen times since: - YouTube

It’s baaaack.

Watched a TV show the other night that had Weezer’s Buddy Holly on the soundtrack.

(Can’t remember which show though. Maybe an episode from S3 of Love?)

Fun fact: Nothing. I’ve got nothing. It’s been done.

My good luck has run out. I have one I don’t want and I can’t shake it. Good Times by Eric Burden. Thing is, I heard this exactly once, during a documentary, and that was it - can’t shake the damn thing.

Here it is - approach with caution.

A few weeks back, there was a thread about what everyone was listening too. I made a list and tried out the artists and ended up with some songs by Porcupine Tree and St Paul & the Broken Bones, so thank you to those who mentioned them.

Right now, my earworm is Normal by Porcupine Tree. Love that song.

“Good Time Girl” by Sofi Tukker, which played over the opening credits of the HBO series The New Pope early this season, over images of sexy dancing nuns (naturally): SOFI TUKKER - Good Time Girl feat. Charlie Barker [Ultra Music] - YouTube

A “happy birthday” song off of a kids’ music CD one of my sisters or I had

Happy birthday, happy
Happy birthday
This is your day
To have a lot of fun (bum bum bum)
Bring out the cake and
Blow out the candles…

and I can’t remember the rest, but I thought it might be “when we’re together, we have a lot of fun” or something along those lines.

I came across the 1930 recording of"El Manisero" (“The Peanut Vendor”) by Don Azpiazu and His Havana Casino Orchestra and it’s been on my mind ever since. I can’t stop listening to either it or the numerous other versions of the song (e.g.,Stan Kenton,Louis Armstrong, Anita O’ Day, Xavier Cugat, etc.). Must be my OCD kicking in.

I was singing in the shower and now I’ve got “The Rattlin’ Bog” stuck in my head. Could be worse, I guess.

Right now it’s Scream by Dreamcatcher. Goth KPop!

Okay, they aren’t actually goth, but they do have a dark, mature aesthetic by KPop standards, and their music tends to have a fantasy/horror theme. This song can basically be described as a descent into madness. It starts out by begging “I don’t want to scream”, then their eyes are opened, and it finishes with “I’m going to make you scream”.

Try try try to understand…
He’s a magic man

(Heart)

Ever since Saturday afternoon, I’ve had Kid Rock’s Cowboy stuck in my head.
