Your Current Earworm

I have two current ones, both have a common theme (kinda childlike female vocals):
*
Adventure Time* closing theme
and Dumb Ways to Die (which is an awesome Melbourne Metro safety campaign)

The *Mary Tyler Moore *theme song.

I’ve had that one, too, and it’s great.

Right now I’ve got Jonathan Coulton’s Mandelbrot Set going through my head. Brilliant lyrics.

Mandelbrot Set, you’re a Rorschach Test on fire
You’re a day-glo pterodactyl
You’re a heart-shaped box of springs and wire
You’re one badass fucking fractal

There’s also this video, which is totally brilliant, but only one verse.

Two right now, and the second has a visual :stuck_out_tongue:
Despicable Me - we went to see DM2 Saturday:D [highly recommend it.]
Thunderstruck - the BadPiper version, with mental visuals  He just looks like he is having SO much fun!

Amazing Grace, because I just came from a memorial service where I played it, to much acclaim, I might add.

My current earworm is Story by Great Northern.

I’m happy to report that the whole album is really good. Has sort of a Snow Patrol feel to it.

Frank Turner - although my thread got no traction - Anymore. Song starts at about 35 seconds in if you want to skip the intro. It’s been in my head for days…

*The single saddest thing that I ever heard you say
Was on the day I told you I had to go away.
You said “Darling baby please, if you really mean to leave,
Can’t I just hold you for a little while longer?”

And the single hardest thing I ever had to do
Was take your arms from round me and walk away from you.
And I know I shouldn’t have kissed you as a I left,
Darling I should have been stronger.

Not with a bang but with a whimper.
It wasn’t hard, it was kind of simple.
Three short steps from your bed to your door,
Darling I can’t look you in the eyes now and tell you I’m sure
If I love you anymore.*

And if that doesn’t make you cry, dunno what will.

The one that keeps getting me is Vampire Weekend’s Diane Young. It’s not a bad song and it’s kind of catchy but the thing about it that I really hate is the blatant, obvious autotuning used during it. Maybe that’s the point.

Ever since July 4th, when *the Music Man *was on:
Shipoopi, Shipoopi, Shipoopi, the girl that’s hard to get…

Maybe Dumb Ways To Die will drive it out.

The Raveonettes - Here Comes Mary

It’s from their album Pretty In Black. The whole album is awesome, but this song in particular has been stuck in my head for weeks now.

I have Dido’s White Flag looping in my brain. Which is not a song I really know well so I’m a little surprised.

I watched One Froggy Evening about a week ago and still have “The Michigan Rag” in my head.

Two Gallants - Winter’s Youth. I figured this out on guitar after seeing them a week ago and haven’t been able to stop playing it or get it out of my head since.
Studio version

Well, since I declared their new album to be the soundtrack to my summer, it’s really no surprise that one of their tunes is my current earworm:

Suicidal Tendencies - Who’s Afraid?

Those can be the worst ones for me, the songs that I know just enough to get the chorus in my head, or a single line.

That particular song is pretty earwormy for me, too.

O Fortuna Misheard Lyrics is stuck in my head, thanks to some friends on FaceBook.

This stupid jingle from a Prius commercial has been driving me batty for the better part of a week now: Prius Family “Hum” :30 - YouTube

The past day or so until now, it has been:

Young, Wild & Free - Wiz Khalifa/Snoop Dogg

Prior to that, it was:

Con Te Partiro - Andrea Bocelli

i’m not reading this thread. every time i read one of these earworm threads i get 16 crappy Top 40 songs, 6 crappy tv show theme songs and a few crappy tv commercials in my head for the day.

for those that like oldies “Yummy Yummy Yummy I’ve Got Love in my Tummy”.

Thanks to the Music Man thread in this forum, mine is “The Sadder But Wiser Girl.”
