I saw an old post by QuickSilver and though that I hadn’t seen him around recently.

So I clicked on his profile page. His last activity was 06-10-2018, when he made this post:

I hope I’m not putting two and two together and getting five…

Nah, he’s fine. Or was as of a couple weeks ago.

Oh, okay. Good to hear! :stuck_out_tongue:

I suppose some elaboration is due. As some may have worked out, a convergence of significant life events in the Summer of 2018 found Q in one of life’s traffic circles. Initially he was determined to negotiate his way through with rational deliberation and purpose. However, traffic circles can be frustrating and soon his freer spirits took over and by Mid August the fates found him flirting with Rock Bottom in what is generously described as a “sketchy” establishment near Southern Maryland. He has never fully accounted to me his dealings, and as a gentleman I haven’t pried, but it is clear the universe has bestowed upon him a rare opportunity to engage his three principle passions: Fast cars, good wine, and sailing. To date his ports of call include Lisbon, The Azores, Monaco, Buenos Aires and, curiously Seychelles which is conducive to neither vines nor spirited driving. At any rate, I am confident I have not divulged overmuch his dealings, and can say with confidence he wishes the very best to all SDMB members. And by “all” I mean “most.” Which is to say, he numbers many, well, several of us in his prayers. The names of three, he admits to moaning in his “prayers” beneath the inky night skies of the Indian Ocean.

That sounds pretty cool! He will, no doubt, one day return to regale us with stories about the various sea creatures he encountered on his travels.

Nothing nearly that interesting, I’m afraid. Just needed a break. As luck would have it, I am planning another short sail in the next couple weeks or so. There will be wine and spirits once anchor is set for the night. I’ll almost certainly speed on the drive to the marina.

Sounds like you’re on the right tack and have the wind in your sails. Just remember to clean the poop deck!

Yay! It’s good to hear from you. You have been missed.

Thanks. It’s largely due to my relatively small target profile.

Yanno, Kopek owns a couple of cannons; one doesn’t need to be quite as accurate when firing a cannon.

Welcome back!

“Almost” certainly? Who do you think you’re kidding?

I’ll race you.

Homer Simpson: “Is the poop deck really what I think it is?”
