Quite possibly the best music video ever.

FTW!

From here

Henry Rollins Liar is just so brutal in it’s honesty. In that sense I think it ranks somewhere among the best.

I didn’t get the OP’s video at first. I thought that guy looked like Ed Helms, and I can see Bateman now, except I wasn’t aware he was capable of growing facial hair.

The video reminds me of New Order’s Crystal, where they just said “fuck it, nobody wants to see our old asses play, let’s hire a fake band called ‘the Killers’”. Then some nice Mormon boys from Las Vegas decided to appropriate the name.

All their videos are fucking awesome. I especially like “I Wanna Fight Your Father,” where they make a protein shake with eggs (duh), cigarettes, and the Irish flag. Or “Black Man,” where they form a gang of Benetton.

True, but when you first said that, I thought “yeah, but every video since Undertow has been meh.” Then you post those two specifically to drive it home. Remember: creepy puppets = good. Dudes in makeup = meh.

Off blast! Also, don’t forget I Am the Anti-Pope. Watch it like a hammer hit a cantaloupe.

I will thank you now. Pure perfect fun!

It was that stupid “Asian Girlz” thing that had its own pit thread at the time **bienville **posted that.

The one obscure video that I send to people when conversations like this pop up is War Photographer.

Unkle has some harrowing videos

Burn My Shadow

Eye For an Eye

Rabbit in Your Headlights

Also, the director Michel Gondry has created some super-original videos. He loves playing with variations on a theme. Some faves:

Let Forever Be by the Chemical Brothers

Star Guitar by the Chemical Brothers

Sugar Water by Cibo Mato

Come Into My World by Kylie Minogue

Around the World by Daft Punk

The Foo Fighters video you’re talking about is “Big Me”, isn’t it? When I first saw it, all I could think of was “This is what videos used to be like.” Great song, too.

When MTV debuted, this was my favorite video. Nobody’s been able to best it. It’s Talking Heads’ “Once in a Lifetime”.

The Ji,y Fallon version of “Blurred Lines” is clearly the winner: - YouTube

Black Thought’s rap trumped the original TI joint. I love that Black Thought was like, “I’m not rhyming someone else’s rap! I’ll write my own!”

Pikers.

and

Thank you. That is one of my peeves on this board; don’t just post a link - tell us what the link is, and we’ll decide if we want to click on it.

That one’s good, but I like the Jimmy Fallon version of “Call Me Maybe” more.

Two videos with Zach Galifianakis:

Kayne West - Can’t Tell Me Nothing

Fiona Apple - Not About Love

Well, if we’re going for Jimmy Fallon videos, here’s my favorite:
Stephen Colbert & Jimmy Fallon - Friday.
(It’s on Hulu, you may not be able to watch outside the United States. No Hulu subscription required.)

Too bad his post, due to being way too upset about it, just makes everyone want to do it more. I only didn’t do it in this post because I don’t want to be accused of trolling.

I really like their music. It’s nice to see they have a sense of humor about themselves.

My personal favorite music video is this narcocorrido: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=oKcDdYzL2os&NR=1 Mostly because the idea of showing up to a cock fight in a Lamborghini makes me laugh.

Pbbbbt! Give me anything by Prince, or Adam Ant! Even The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats.

“Nasty Boys” by Janet Jackson.
“Weapon of Choice” is a marvel.
“Eat It” by Weird Al (and many others by Weird Al Yankovich)
“Rump Shaker” by Wreckx n Effect :stuck_out_tongue:

If you get “Classic Arts Showcase”, you can see some very interesting classical music videos. That this gem has been viewed more than 20 million times on You Tube alone is even cooler than the fact that it exists in the first place.
