Quitting My Job

As of tomorrow, I’ll officially join the ranks of shiftless layabouts and quit my job. Granted, I’ve moved to “just barely there” part-time, but 2 years of mind-numbing idiocy is enough. Most of the people I like have gone and I shall depart in turn.

A toast to wage slaves, like my former comrades and myself. May the gods of good judgement smite our managers and give us that money instead.

Congrats and good luck! Is this a sort of retirement, or do you have anything else lined up?

Right now I’m working as an intern at a game company. Come Fall, I’ll be in school full-time again (it’s summer vacation now), so there’s that. And I have my website and various other projects to keep me busy. And my writing. I may look for something else part-time in the fall-ish.

Huzzah!

I did the same thing in March, but replace game company with building materials company and you’ve got it. Welcome to the wonderful world of shiftless layaboutry. I’m also considering a part-time fall-ish job while I do school full-time. Any idea of what you want to do? I’m thinking working at a flower shop could be fun. Anything but a desk job!

I’d actually like a desk job. I do one right now in my internship. I go to my cube, settle in, do my work, and maybe talk to the coordinator guy 3 or 4 times, and then I go home at 6. Beats the hell out of retail.
