There used to be little arrows in the quote box that were links back to the original quoted post. Am I the only one who doesn’t have that anymore?
It’s there for me. Which skin are you running?
On the new skin, they are very light. And since on one complained, I never fixed that in my skin tweaker.
I’m using Sultantheme’s responsive in chrome.
https://snag.gy/3r1MIt.jpg - This is what it looks like for me. I just tried dragging across to highlight the link, but it’s not there.
ETA: I just tried the old style and it’s there on that one. I’ll just go back to using the original theme.
I just looked in Chrome (I use Firefox). The arrow is there but it’s such a light grey, it’s almost invisible. WAG-Your monitor settings are rendering the white background as just off-white background which would make it invisible.
Mousing over does get the pointing hand.
ETA: It’s a lighter gray in Chrome than I see in Firefox.
I tried mousing over the spot where the icon should be and clicking and dragging to highlight it (which does work on the original theme) and nothing.
One could try looking at the HTML source to see what’s there. Looking at the beginning of the quote box in Post #5 above, for example, I see this:

</div>
(Note: On preview, I see that the box above doesn’t show the whole snippet at once – if you see a horizontal scroll bar there, you really do have to scroll across to see it all.)
Mystery solved. I checked the code, and the gif was listed, then I turned off the adblockers, and the gif appeared. Somehow it got swept up in the block list.
