R.I.P. Mary Jo

Wishing death on someone milroyj?
Bad form.

How is my OP bullshit? Seriously, why is her killer still in the Senate?

It says they keep voting for him. Y’know, it’s like a choice. Their choice. Don’t like the democratic process? There’s lots of other countries you can move to where you won’t be bothered by it.

You can bait me all you like, but I’m not falling for it. Sorry.

I agree that it’s their choice. Just wondering why they continue to vote for killers, is all.

How is it not?

Because the people of his state keep voting for him. It’s really quite simple.

I hadn’t realized that you were so polite milroyj. Kudos on assuming the mantle.

Take a look at my post #47, or Veb’s post on this page.

In precis:

  • Accusations of murder, drunkenness has little factual background and a great deal of hyperbole
  • Irrelevant to anything happening today
  • Random swings at all people from Massachussetts, or all Democrats, or something like that
  • What a maroon you are.

Ok, Jeffrey Dahmer for President! Or maybe John Wayne Gacy, how’s that?

I’m not going to sit here and defend milroyj, but here are some facts about the Chappaquiddick accident.

Ted Kennedy was at a party that evening.
He later drove off a bridge. He escaped, but his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, did not, and died.
After escaping from the car, Kennedy didn’t report the accident until 8 hours later.

At the least, his conduct was reckless and irresponsible. It is almost indisputable that his reputation and family name helped him avoid the consequences that Joe Schmoe would have faced in the same scenario.

What does this mean over thirty five years later? That’s for everyone to decide for themselves, I suppose.

Okay, you’ve said it twice now. Even if we were to accept your OP that Ted Kennedy is a murderer, who are these other murderers/killers that the folks of Massachusetts “keep voting for”?

Are you trying to imply Kerry by using the plural, or do you have another Massachusetts politician up your sleeve?

IIRC, he was indeed convicted of drunk driving. The fact that it happened before you were born does not make it any less true.

I’m as liberal as they get, but I have no problem calling creeps like Kennedy and scumbags like Clinton what they are: creeps and scumbags.

Have you ever seen Teddy’s PR speech that went on TV or whatever after Mary Jo’s bath? It’s absolutely chilling. He was the one who fucked up, but at the end of the thing, it’s like he’s preaching to us about how sometimes thing happen, and we’ve just got to accept that, etc. Disgusting. I wonder if this sweet piece of propaganda is available on the Net somewhere.

This “innocent until proven guilty” stuff is nonsense. He got a girl killed and ran like a coward. Had he not been a Kennedy, he would have had no political career thereafter.

“Prove he was drunk.” “It was just a blowjob.”

Sorry, folks. Bush is as bad as it gets, but we’ve got to accept the faults of people supposedly on our own liberal side, otherwise we just sound like knee-jerk phonies.

How many Vietamese did Kerry kill? A lot, I’d guess, based on his medals.

So soldiers are killers?

Why do you hate the Armed Forces so much? Can’t you support the troops?

Why do you hate America? I mean, I’m a big-time Democrat, and I support the troops.

You crazy right-wing folk…calling soldiers killers…wow…

He has clearly stated he is making a link between Kennedy and Kerry.

The stink of partisan desperation coming from milroyj is so heavy, I’m sure it must show up in photographs and interfere with radio broadcasts. milroyj, does it distort your face in pictures and closed-circuit TV pictures, sort of like in the movie ‘The Ring’? Do you have any pictures online, it must look pretty cool!

More than Bush did, that’s for sure.

Are you seriously suggesting that Vietnam vets (or any other combat veterans) are murderers?

Mmmm, tough one. Dahmer would definitely lose the Vegetarian Party. Gacy would lose all the mimes (longstanding hatred of clowns), but might pick up some from the home-handyman sector. Both are, of course, dead, whereas Bush is only dead from the neck upwards, and Kerry only looks dead.

Nope, still Kerry.

Here is the end of Kennedy’s speech:

And so I ask you tonight, the people of Massachusetts, to think this through with me. In facing this decision, I seek your advice and opinion. In making it, I seek your prayers. For this is a decision that I will have finally to make on my own.

It has been written:

“A man does what he must - in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures - and that is the basis for all human morality. And whatever may be the sacrifices he faces if he follows his conscience - the loss of his friends, his fortune, his contentment, even the esteem of his fellow men - each man must decide for himself the course he will follow. The stories of past courage cannot supply courage itself. For this each man must look into his own soul.”

I pray that I can have the courage to make the right decision. Whatever is decided, whatever the future holds for me, I hope I shall be able to put this most recent tragedy behind me and make some future contribution to our state and mankind whether it be in public or private life. Thank you and good night.

What a jackass.

How many human beings did John Kerry kill?
