That said, I believe it’s the Republican ticket that’s ahead in the DWI conviction department, by a count of 3-0. Of course, those were just youthful indiscretions, and are in no way an indictment of the leadership abilities of the esteemed gentlemen, because when Bush and Cheney drove drunk, they had the foresight not to drive off a bridge with a passenger. That’s the sort of good judgement that a person likes to see in leading politicians.
