Aw, look at the fluffy little ears!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 12 Amurrkin out and muggy with a predicted high of 88 for the day. Not too shabby again.
Plans for today include goin’ for some brekkie (probably MickeyD’s or Booger King bein’ as we only like the classy places), goin’ to the local farmer’s market, and at some point mowage of OYKW’s yahd must occur. I may take a layer or two of filth off’n da cave. Who knows!
Nettie you must find out what F did! Do not leave us with a cliffhanger.
{{{Rebo}}} ::bear hug:: keeeeeeeeeeyoooooooooooote puppeh overload!
Ok, I need more caffiene now. I suppose I shall also need to purtify bein’ as I am goin’ out in public. Eventually I shall also ensure OYKW achieves wakeage.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
Has something happened to the alignment of the stars? Higgs let me sleep in till 6:30!!
BBBobbio:
**Rebo **- are you the puppeh equivalent of a Crazy Cat Lady? That’s one adorable critter there.
We had a lovely steady, gently, long-lasting rain shower overnight - exactly the kind one wants for giving the yard a nice drink without washing everything away. There’s a chance of T-storms today, but not a lot on the radar, so we shall see how that pans out. The best part, of course, is that it cooled down so I could open the house again.
No idea what today’s plans are. I need to call DirecTV and find out if we can receive their signals despite all the trees around here. I’m sick of the cable company constantly raising the rates when we barely watch half the channels on the lineup. I also need to find out about their bundling - my quick and dirty calculations indicate we could save around $80/month, so it’s worth investigating.
I’ve also got to get to the credit union to deposit a check - our stupid mortgage company overpaid our homeowners insurance despite me calling them and telling them a second, smaller bill was enroute. At least Travelers was quick with the refund.
Beyond that, dunno. Don’t much care either.
Happy Saturday!
Gettin’ a little rainy out. OYKW is gettin’ dressed so we can go grab some brekkie. We may or may not go to the market. I likes me some fresh produce but not enough to go stand around in the rain. Guess mowage is pretty much out now at least for a while. Forecast says fifty percent chance of tstorms this afternoon. We shall see.
Oh, go to the market - you won’t melt!
what a cutie!
The Rosebuds just got a puppy too. Not sure how their cat is handling that.
I was brought up amid the mindset of “fighting like cats and dogs” but my experience over the last 10 years has shown me that it’s a very individual thing - many cats and dogs get along. Some don’t. Luckily, ours seem to get along. Even Ziva has been seen approaching and rubbing up against Higgs. Of course, we’ve also seen Higgs chase Ziva the length of the house till she hids under the bed, so there’s that…
Showered and dressed, because I know you were all wondering.
Happy Saturday!!!
not really but we can always pretend to be happy
but when I look out the window and see both the lexus and the jimmie parked outside my heart sinks just a little bit, there is always a little spark of joy when both of the are gone.
It is a cool 67 degrees outside with a projected high of 77 but it seems humid. Lots of rain last night.
There was a time when I had 2 dogs and 2 cats and they got along beautifully. My friend said it was unnatural and spooky. Only because she saw all 4 of them eating leftover fish out of the same bowl. They all shared and looked after each other.
Other dogs I’ve had would and did kill strange cats that came in my yard but were friends with my cats. My poor Chauncey hated cats though, hated them with a passion and Saudi cat just loved Chauncey. Saudi purred like a jack hammer, sometimes I’d had to dump him off the bed at night because he’d make the bed vibrate. One day Chauncey was lying outside taking a nice snooze and Saudi draped himself over him, purring away. Chauncey woke up and gave Saudi a nasty look as he shook him off and trotted across the yard to another spot. Saudi woke up, looked around like how did I get on the ground, spied Chauncey across the yard and went right over and draped himself over Chauncey again.
Sah-dog has never been up close and personal with a cat but I expect he would be okay with one. He shared the yard with a ground hog for years.
Cute puppy Rebo
I know you are right Sun so we have road trip today to see another house and then if I don’t like the new one I will put the offer in with my head one. I like the heart one but the truth is, it needs a lot of work and I’m not 30 any more. Renovating isn’t for wimps and I don’t have the time, energy, money or skill to do it and in all honesty the house is so fugly inside I’d be ashamed to have people over. It may not be something to think about but every house I go in I think would I want my family/friends to see this house? If the answer is no then I skip it. Every ceiling in that house needed to be torn down and replaced. There is a ‘fake wall’ in the dining room that needed to be torn down. I don’t even know how to describe it but it looked like it was there to provide a hall from the bedroom to the bathroom but instead it was just an ugly wall jutting into the dining room. All the windows need to be replaced, the stairs to the second floor are uneven, some of the risers were too high and steep. It’s kind of sad when the garage and shed are prettier than the house. The house has potential and could be turned into something really nice but I think its more than I can handle. It doesn’t help that all the family/friends I have in construction are older and retired, so I don’t even have reasonable labor cost I can trust anymore.
So road trip this afternoon.
Perhaps this is a good time to microwave fish?
Ugh, maybe crab or shrimp but not fish.
I hate to admit I don’t care for fish but it’s not my favorite. One of my ex’s loved to fish and he was a good cook but all that fish, especially blue fish (YUK!) and I think the other icky one was sun fish? There were some others that were really good though.
I ate the rest of a cheeseburger I had in the fridge.
I’m debating irk now and clean up for the road trip later or clean up now and irk later.
I think some breakfast first. One shouldn’t make decisions on a rumbly tummy.
Up and caffeinated. Rainy day off.
sari, sound like the head one is better.
We’ll be headed out on Tuesday to buy pellets for our stove. We can save $100 over the best local deal by driving 28 miles and getting them ourselves. So we shall. We’ve got to clear space in the garage for 2 tons - that’s a lot of stacking - 100 40# bags. Looks like we’ve got a workout ahead of us. rah.
Our morning erranding included a stop at the Amish market - we’ve now got corn, another cantaloupe, and some peaches. After the peaches ripen a bit more, I’m going to skin them, slice them, and freeze them for future nummies.
I went to the card shop in town today to get some stuff for a friend’s big birthday next weekend. They already had Christmas cards out! In August! I had to go and have a cup of tea to get over the shock.
So you’re turning the whine into beer?
Amie’s a cutie, Rebo. How is she adjusting to the rest of the critters?
Went out for catfish, beer and bluegrass last night. Could you possibly get any more hick than that?
Got the dishes done, floors vacuumed and mopped and am headed out to the farmer’s market and grocery sto’.
Rebo - cute puppy!
Sari - I shan’t lecture anymore
I fell down last night trying to remove Boo cat from my room at 0:dark:thirty. Tripped over giant black dog. Cat scratched me. Have a raised brusie the size of my hand on my left hip. My husband asked my I wasn’t using a flashlight. I was carrying a cat. And I was mostly asleep. Sigh.
Onwards to brekfast and then Guardians of the Galaxy.
Red the only thing I have to say about that is… dangit! I wish I’d been there with ya! Sounds like my kinda fun time.
The rain was just a sprinkle after all. So after brekkie we went to the market. We came away with cantaloupe (can’t find my ladder), watermelon, corn, okra and 'maters. Dindin tonight shall be steak, corn on the cob, fried okra, and sallit with watermelon for dessert. YUM!!!
Also, mowage of OYKW’s yahd has been accomplished. Go Us!
Hello interwebz connected peoples! I am back with you now, two days after some varmint/creature/dog decided to eat the cable/internet line about 5" above the ground where it comes down the pole before going underground to my property.
I’ve been at the Farmer’s festival all week. 4-5 barns of aminals & one of antique tractors. Wed was tractor pull night & last night they had a hay bale rolling contest; that gets both a yee & a haw!!!
Waiting for the latest forecast before deciding whether to drive back up there tonight; got rained out of last night’s flight.
Cats & dogs living together? Mass hysteria.
Were you gone?
We have achieved nappage. We were a couple of tahrd bears after all that yahd irk and corn shuckin’. Plus it’s been a dreary sorta day though right now Mr. Sunshine is peekin’ out a bit.
Spidey glad you got teh intartoobz back. Believe it or not, I have actually baled hay. That was waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in my cub days on my uncle’s farm.
Red I forgot to comment earlier but, “whine into beer”, HEE!
Any of youse folks have DirecTV? We’re looking at dropping cable and going satellite, since our cable co keeps dropping channels and raising the price. We’ll keep them for intrarwebs, but that’s it. And we’ll drop digital phone service and just use wireless. That should save us some change…
