Rain!

I love rain. I adore rain. It frequently becomes the focus of all that is me, or at least a majority of my thoughts. King Lear? Bring on the storm, me and Nature, I’m ready. Who needs clothes?

Its such a purifying thing, to wander around in storms that make most everyone else run for the warm security of roofs. Or saunter through gentle patters with bare feet and hair dripping.

Its happily dripping out there tonight, not a violent combat, just a good, cool, soak. I have three more engineering problems to do. This’ll teach me to procrastinate. Sigh.

<Yes, this is mundane, pointless, and I should get back to work now. Love you all>

Absolutely relish it. There is nothing I like better than an enormous, ominous black cloud that consumes the sky and voicelessly announces its awesome forthcoming display of power. Then…BOOM! Thunder…lightning…rain…ooooh, yeah, that’s the stuff. (Maybe it’s living in Southern California that has enhanced my love of these storms, as they are essentially a foreign concept here.)

And, uh, btw, a summer thunderstorm does things to me. Good things. Very good things. And, heh heh, even better things to DeathLlama.

i enjoy watching a summer thunderstorm at work. we are on the 15th floor. you can see it heading toward you for miles. then the rain line comes, then it hits the windows and you can hear the building dance in the wind. we all just flock to the windows and watch the lightning strike and the rain go horizontal. then in about 15 minutes its all over.

at home i just keep chanting: “there are things higher than my house” it’s really weird at work i’m in a building that gets hit by lightning, quite a few times, no fear of it. at home, okay there was that one strike, so major cowering.

my favourite rain is the light mist. i really enjoy walking in that.

I really like rain, but I love thunderstorms. Rain pattering on the window, or hammering on the roof calms me. I feel cozy inside.
Thunder’s even better. It completely relaxes me. It could thunder every night, and it would be wonderful. If the lights go off, all the better. Then I can just sit back, relax, and listen to the thunder and rain. “Sorry, can’t do any work; the powers out.” Luckily, I have a CD of thunderstorms when it’s not storming.
I once heard a report on the radio about this woman who, whenever it stormed, would take her children and hide under their staircase in the basement. Couldn’t understand it. I guess it was just the way she was raised, or she had a bad experience.
Lighting has struck right beside my car, and right beside my room, and I still love thunderstorms.

Ah . . . Medea’s Child is back. And the villagers rejoiced . . . in the rain.

Puddlewalks are fun, so long as one has appropriate footwear and a swimsuit. Rain is not fun, however, when there is a sporting event going on. Or when it kicks the server.

I love the rain too!! I am with you guys all the way. there is nothing like lying in bed watching the rain fall on your window (or pound when it is really good) and watch the lightening fly across the sky! It is so refreshing and cleansing.

I am glad that you guys think so too, so many people hate the rain and don’t see the green grass it gives us or the beautiful flowers. Life florishes out of rain and it is beautiful.

Paddy, dear, the correct footwear is none at all. (Good to see you too) Rain is a gift from God, so stop whining iampunha. Sporty people can bite me, and I will even sacrifice connection to the Internet for a good storm. (I am probably too busy getting soaked to check my e-mail. It isn’t a complicated system of priorities, but I never said it had to make sence.)

I did get a bit of a joyful frolic going, but it has lightened to proportions I can miss out on without mental injury.

Its good to hear that other peopel are as silly/crazy as I am. Love all y’ins.

Nothing beats a good summer thunderstorm

Showering in the rain. Standing outside with the warm rain pouring over your body. Damn it was way long ago. This summer in Upstate has been Rain Central. No major damage from the rains, yet. Rain brings life.

I’ll put in another vote for a thunderstorm. I love them!
We sit out on the deck and watch the lightening.

Walking in the rain is great. Am I the only one who still likes to jump in puddles???

I can’t add a thing to the sentiments expressed here. Thunderstorms rock. While not on a par with oceans, thunderstorms make me realize what a little speck of nuthin’ I am on this big planet.

Oh, yeah…no offense, aha :frowning:

Rain sport: puddle-kicking. Try to soak the other person (or yourself) as thoroughly as possible.
