Rally to Restore Sanity/Keep Fear Alive watch along thread

OK. I’d 'a never predicted this juxtaposition…

Aw man. Any chance they’ll let Yusuf/Cat finish?

I get it and all, but I was really excited

Dude, this is hilarious.

I have to say, I didn’t expect a Yusuf Islam/Ozzie Osborne faceoff.

OJ’s Nice.

I want to be backstage in that white tent !

Update re my friends on the Metro: They arrived at the Mall and are now in the “quarter-mile deep crowd that has formed outside the barricades” as the Mall is completely full now and police are not letting any more people in.

Peace Train Vs. Crazy Train was brilliant, but I’d also loved to have heard Yusuf do a whole set for real, or at least finish a song.

Toggling between here and Fark. Sounds awesome, I should have gone out to my Mom’s house and watched it.

So far so awesome…not really political as some pundits expected.

Instead just a really good live entertainment show. The OJs rocked the stage.

Love the Fear Medal. :stuck_out_tongue:

They just burned on NPR pretty hard.

OK, giving an award for reasonableness to Armando Galarraga just gave me the biggest smile I’ve ever worn. That was adorable.

I’m disappointed that I couldn’t fit the 20 hours of driving into my weekend that were required for me to attend, but this streaming coverage is top notch. There’s nothing like being there, but the coverage, closeups, and impressive crane shots are a damn good substitute.

Sam Waterson reading Stephen’s poem was GOLD. Especially when they introduced him with the “doink doink”.
I do hope that “NAMBLA for JON STEWART!!!” sign was a joke – and not a very funny one. (If only because you never know when those assholes will show up)

(And the Freepers are all butthurt over the whole thing. Gotta love it!)

Great to see Father Guido Sarducci again.

So far the first fear medal gave me the biggest laugh.

His bits on SNL back in the day were so classic. The thing he did about “Find the Pope in the pizza” was so damn funny.

“Dude, you have no Koran” guy. Heh.

Wow. I forgot how solid Kid Rock is live. I’m not much of a fan, but without much range, and in an age of autotune, he sounds as as good and unwavering as he does on CD.

That was a good song. Did Kid Rock write that?

Also, can someone tell me who T.I. is and what were the “obvious reasons” that he couldn’t be there?
