Rashida Tlaib use profanity cals for trumps impeachment

“Go fuck yourself” is the only rational response to Republican pearl-clutching here.

I think a lot of snowflakes got triggered and want to retreat to their safe spaces.

It seems like an unnecessary gift for rhetoric to the opposition without gaining you anything but pleasing the hard core opposition.

Looks like just the time to set up a Congressional Fainting Couch franchise.

Pearls and monocles are optional.

Next thing you know she will be abusing her power as a DA to sexually molest children.

Love it. We should fight back hard and often.

I agree 100%. We need more folks willing to speak their minds…and actually say what the majority of the country is thinking.

After all, isn’t that why so many folks voted for Trump? Because he said publicly what they were thinking privately?

This isn’t even a nothingburger, it’s a nothing slider. Who the fuck cares.

The people who voted for Trump don’t do any thinking, privately or otherwise.

We have a government who is lying to us, trying to link immigrants to terrorism in an attempt to stir up racial resentment so they can enact xenophobic policies.

And here we are, concern-trolling about the word “motherfucker”.

Right wingers care. Because they would much rather the public debate was about a Congresswoman swearing than about whether their President deserves to be impeached.

Seems kind of hypocritical to be critical of President Trump’s brash public discourse style if the Democrats aren’t going to curbstomp this freshman congressman for what she said. I get it, TDS is strong with the kitty cat hat crowd, as the comments in this thread show.

But this comment, and Hank “Guam will tip over” Johnson’s that directly compared Trump to Hitler, show that if it weren’t for double standards, lefties would have no standards at all.

To Pelosi’s credit, she’s going to have a talk with the girl.

Since when is protecting a country’s borders automatically xenophobia? Or are you an open borders person, that white guilt or something else says that it’s just not fair to those poor caravans to keep them out, no matter the cost to Americans.

Republicans are absolutely hilarious at this point, taking hypocrisy to whole new heights. The Republican’s idea of appropriate language for the President to use in speeches includes repeated use of words and phrases like ‘motherfucker’, ‘pussy’, son of a bitch’, and ‘shit’, but they want everyone to wail and gnash their teeth if a non-Republican drops a single f-bomb.
For examples:

CNN: Donald Trump's profanity tirade, drops the "f-bomb' - YouTube

What are we protecting the borders from? I thought we wanted cheap labor.

I think we kept them out fine with existing boarder security. The Trump tribute wall doesn’t make us any safer and probably makes things worse. There are a lot of more rational things do do with 5 to 25 billion dollars if we actually need to beef up the boarder.

Unless you’re talking about them renting a room from you, I’m pretty sure you mean border security.

As for how the wall makes us less safe - please expand on that. A wall, fence, or barrier has been down on the TJ border for years, and that’s what forces people to make dangerous trips through the AZ desert, where there is no wall (or water, or much medical attention in case something goes wrong, as we saw a week or two ago when those kids died).

Five billion may sound like a lot of money, but it’s a drop in the bucket for the Feds. And walls/fences do work - as on RCP this morning, “robust fencing made an enormous difference in stopping illegal crossings in Yuma, Ariz. The area had only about 5 miles of fencing in the mid-2000s, then saw the extent of its fencing increase 10-fold. Illegal crossings plummeted.”

Are there other things we can do? Absolutely. Overstayed visa enforcement, mandatory eVerify are places I would also address. But just because one solution doesn’t solve 100% of the problem, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it.

It seems you missed my point:

A country who’s Department of Justice is a fount of lies cannot be trusted to tell us accurately what is happening at our borders.

Perhaps you ought to be more concerned about the lies than you need to be about the Mexican border.

If the choice here, as you seem to think it needs to be, is between a lying government with closed borders vs an honest government with open borders, then, living less than 150 miles from the Mexican border myself, I will take honest governments and open borders all day long.

However, that isn’t the choice as you well know.

You have unintentionally hit on another downside to illegal immigration - an influx of low-skilled workers drives down the wages of our unskilled workers; as the supply increases, prices fall. It was always thus.

^^ Loves watching people esconced in Northern Virginia talk about the Mexican border like they live next to it.
