Apparently you’ve been whooshed. The poster does not literally think that Trump should be replaced due to his swearing alone. He is calling out the other poster for not thinking Trump should be replaced without giving the same courtesy to Tlaib.

It seems like an unnecessary gift for rhetoric to the opposition without gaining you anything but pleasing the hard core opposition.

The “rhetoric of the opposition”? The response I’ve seen so far to the response is a big fat, “Are you fucking kidding me?” People are pissed - not that she swore, but that this is considered an issue at all. And really, it’s about time there was some real pushback on the media from the left, because this kind of petty bullshit is stupid and damaging, especially when you remove it from the concept of modern discourse.

Meanwhile, what do we get out of it? Well, a democratic politician sounded subversive and revolutionary. She sounds like she’s saying what people have been wishing the democrats would say for ages. It’s charismatic, and I certainly support her more. It’s this kind of thing that pushes the overton window - not all the way to “impeach the motherfucker” (a perfectly valid and reasonable thing to say, mind you!), but away from “this is just business as normal” and the crushing centrist bias the mainstream media holds.

Seems kind of hypocritical to be critical of President Trump’s brash public discourse style if the Democrats aren’t going to curbstomp this freshman congressman for what she said.

I mean, if you have no sense of scope, scale, or location, then sure, that might make any sense whatsoever. “Impeach the motherfucker” is a thoroughly reasonable sentiment spoken in a brash way. “Grab 'em by the pussy” is… not.

No, it means that we have bigger fish to fry, and that this is just another in a long line of desperate “Look! Over there!” type stories. I find it rather precious that any Republican thinks they have the right to bring up the topic of proper decorum when their own President is a lying, cheating, womanizing bigot.
