(some of my friends would argue for anal-explosive:D!)
Since I am getting close to 3K posts, and since December 23rd will be my three-year anniversary on SDMB, I have decided I want my 3000th post to be exactly on 12.23.2003. (I wish I knew the exact time of my first post, but I think that’s a little much, even for me. Anyway, that was lost during the "Winter of Our Missed Content.)
For this reason, I’m gonna slow down a bit in posting and lurk more, so I invite those of you with whom I have an “onboard” relationship to e-mail me if you wish. (SDMB Weight Loss and Christmas Dopefest for instance). I always enjoy reading the posts and if you wanna e-mail me, I’ll always answer.
I agree with FCM. Just start posting like crazy to every thread you open. Even if it’s nothing you’re interested in. Even if you have nothing to say. You could post something like “Quasi was here, padding his post count, due to the fact that Quasi has ‘issues’”
I feel like we’re a metaphorical crowd standing in the street shouting up to Quasi, on the ledge of a building at, say, the fourth floor, shouting, “Post! Post! Post! Post!”
Note: 2401 base 10 is 10000 base 7. Now that’s a nice round number to shoot for. Of course, you’ll have to “lose” three of your fingers, but isn’t the SDMB worth it?
Oops, thought you were bumping against 2000. Let’s see, 3000. Hmm. 3125 base 10 is 100000 base 5. So we’re talking about losing a whole hand here. Right or left?
Post counts are a meaningless construct. Ask not if you have an opportunity to add to your count. Ask if you really have anything to add to the flow of the thread. If so, then post.
Riiiggghtt! Let’s just do the math here (I’m a CPA, I am qualified to do this, really!) You have 14 posts left, and…eh, 23-12 + 31 times the square root of 3,000 = well, let’s just go with five weeks. Less than three posts per week - I do not think so.
There’s a very cool “Predict the Next Poster’s Death” thread going on, Quasi - please come on in!
I think you all are going about this the wrong way. Don’t plead for more posts–so something that will force posting–like when the folks here insult Cecil and he (sometimes) shows up. So what is Quasi particularly sensitive about? What would he(?) be unable to resist? If we said, for instance that Quasi is the most wumpular poster to have ever graced the boards with his magnificence, then he might have to respond. Likewise if we said that Quasi was the most fershinkly poster to have ever set foot in this one quagalumph town and should be shot until fully leested, then he would be forced to stand up against those harsh taunts. Hey, it’s a thought.
