Maybe. I have a vague memory of a poster by that name, but it doesn’t bring anything in particular to mind. Wouldn’t all his previous posts reflect the name change? I actually did a search of my posts and the words “dutchman idiot”, and I got only the one in this thread.
I beg to differ - grienspace was more part of the background noise of idiocy, as far as I was concerned; there were always eight or ten total idiots who were successfully crowding him out, from my perspective.
He seems to be more successful in drawing attention to himself under the new moniker, though. Maybe it’s because some of his old competition has fortunately abandoned the board in the pay-to-play era.
That’s just not true and you know it. I won’t mention any names since this is Ravenman’s pit, but Dutchy hasn’t cornered the market on density…

Redid the search with grienspace instead of dutchman, and came up with nada.

The funny thing is, when I did the search on my posts with just “grienspace” (no “idiot”), I only got two or three hits, and one of them was me complimenting him! I think the other one or two were neutral or the name was in another person’s post who I had been quoting.
Many years ago - I, too, didn’t remember his name, or remember any particular harsh feelings/negative posts towards him, though he claimed I had. Another poster (IzzyR, no longer a member) was “thoughtful” enough to do searches to demonstrate that yea, we’d bumped heads in a couple of threads. They both seemed to take it as evidence that I was lying about not remembering negative encounters w/him. He’s one of the very few names I do currently keep in mind as “oh, yea, he’s an ass, and we’ve spared before”. I don’t (generally) categorize folks that way, it takes quite a bit of effort for me to recall some one negatively. He’s one of the few. the proud, the griens.
That’s the thing about idiots, they are idiots. I made some unkind remarks to a different one ONCE and he accused me of stalking him and always insulting him. This tendency is part of what makes them idiots, maybe.

This thread triggered an ancient memory trace of the only time I have ever been Pitted (well, almost Pitted), by The Flying Dutchman posting as grienspace. I’m not sure what was more bizarre, my getting into a tiff with Dr. Deth over whether you could catch herpes from gym equipment, or grienspace taking umbrage over the affair based on a pair of hilarious false assumptions.
And most importantly there is the Dutch treat - which is not a treat at all!!*
