I thought they were not room mates so much as living in the same building and also friends, or at least acquaintances.
It has been remarked that Dora is thin with a quick metabolism, and Faye well rounded several times in the comic. Faye’s weight has fluctuated a bit. Swen dedicated Fat Bottomed Girls to someone he knew in the crown and there was no doubt he was talking about Faye. Also, at one point she asked Marten if a skirt made her ass look fat and he asked why did she not check it out in the mirror and she said the mirror was not wide enough.
She is curvaceous, but never fat enough to sport a double chin. Her current exercise kick is more about getting fit so she doesn’t keel over young than losing weight, as evinced by the ice cream she allowed herself after the work out.
Hannelore cleaned Marigold’s apartment early on. Which is how she found out about manga.
True, but she was in full hazmat gear to do it.
Marigold and Angus are roommates, according to Wikipedia and also my memory of the current strips. I’m not sure if they live in the same building as Hannelore, Martin, and Faye, though.
Roommates, but I can’t tell if they do live in the same building. Given Jeph’s penchant for unlikely coincidences, though, I honestly wouldn’t doubt it.
They don’t live in the same building. Not definitive, but I don’t see how Faye would need direction to her own apartment building.
No wonder Angus was so grateful for Hannelore cleaning her room up.
Poor Hanners…that’s two fairly hard blows to her OCD restraints in less than four hours (assuming normal average raid duration)…I admire her for not fainting.
MGold is a fem-geek, so I would guess zits. As far a a romance goes-My Ghod! Are you trying to give poor Hanners a freakin’ heart attack?
Heh… that was hilarious. As soon as I saw the title, I knew what was going to happen.
I think her skin’s clearing up.
Hannelore is too freaking adorable, especially in the fourth panel.
damn you all for introducing me to QC. I have spent the past six days reading that from first strip to last.
Weird how the look of the characters evolved from looking like “Dr. Katz” to today’s art over the course of six years.
I didn’t notice Sara quitting her job at Coffee of Doom. Can anyone point out where that happened? Or did she just do a Chuck Cunningham?
The artist just dropped the character without ever explaining it in the strip.
She was eaten by an allosaurus.
on the subject of noses, compare this QC comic featuring Marigold with this parody done by the XKCD guy.
This.
I believe it’s mentioned somewhere in the strip, or maybe the notes…
I experienced that last summer. I eventually got to the point of being OK with sparing the life of the responsible party.
The [fanon/fanwank, not sure which] explanation inferred from various strips attributes her personality changes to changes in her medication/therapy mix.
I still like it when she goes all hard-ass on someone.
And yes, “Suck it, Shippers”, was brilliant. Jeph rose for me to towering heights of admiration on that line alone. Isn’t this what TVTropes calls “Word of God”?
I’m just a fan of the Daily Specials blackboard at the coffeeshop. Not enough of those. “Espresso with a battery in it”; “Latte and a punch in the mouth”.
