Well, I’ll never do *that *again!! It was a $50 lesson, and I did not enjoy it.
I knew Zumba was potentially a high energy workout, but the woman at the studio assured me it could be done at a lower level. The first problem is that virtually every routine is fast-fast-fast, so even if I did it at the lowest possible level, I’d still be essentially running. Secondly, since it’s got Latin roots, there’s a lot of twisting/ swiveling/ turning - the kinds of things that can be murder on knees, especially when one has bad knees. Mine had been feeling really good of late, till tonight.
My daughter enjoyed it and I apologized to her for deserting her, but I won’t be going back. Even the final stretch/cool down required knee-killing pivoting. I guess I was hoping for something like the aerobic dancing class I took 30+ years ago. Oh well…
oooooo - it’s clouding over - maybe we’ll get some rain?!? It’s been evilly hot and dry of late - a nice long shower would be wonderful. Not likely, but wonderful.
**swampy **- you need to sunbathe out front in your sequinned tube top and leather thong. Or better yet, do some Zumba on your front lawn in the aforementioned tube top and thong…
<shudder> I may have just set myself up for a nightmare…
She’s been on Facebook some; seems she broke an arm, so I imagine she hasn’t been typing too much. I’ve been missing her here, too.
Yay for baby tomatoes. And the food sounds yummy. I’m going to give the peas a try. It has some of my favorite ingredients in it.
That’s awesome about the sales, Sticky! Hope they all go fast.
You’re welcome. He seems to have a really good eye for interesting pictures and a talent for thoughtful comments.
Those text messages were hilarious, Bobbio. So sorry for your break-up.
You are an evil evil man, swampy. Which is why we love you. Neighbor across the road needs to get a life. (I have a list that could keep him busy!) Also, Bobbio’s topiary is possibly the best ever.
Sorry about the class, FCM. Is there some other exercise opportunity nearby? Maybe water aerobics?
Sorry, for the owie, rosie.
Wipe Out? New one on me.
Came home tired, so I wandered around admiring my flowers - there are some spectacular ones this year - and then went to the Tuesday eventing outdoor concert. Really good blues band; they seem to have really thought about the set they needed to play. Did lots of catchy tunes that kept the little kids hopping (they’re the supplemental entertainment).
Now I’m just hanging, watching a Remington Steele episode and about to upload some pics.
I’m sorry to hear this. Zumba is the one thing that keeps me in the gym. When I first started, I sure couldn’t keep up: but our instructor told me it doesn’t matter if you get the steps. Just keep moving. Even if you have to go to a march, just keep moving. I have horrible knees, and I’ve been lucky in that it hasn’t bothered me at all. And I’m starting to get pretty good.
I was walking Lucy and Ernie as usual, without a leash. Lucy doesn’t always come when I call, and tonight she really didn’t mind much at all. She ran down the street rather than turning the corner towards home. I took off after her.
She and Ernie were in a garage with a wide open door. The garage where Dipsey lives. Dipsey was in a collapsable crate. With a zipper. Which just happened to magically zip itself open. Or maybe it was already partially open?
Anyway, we are all at my house, and I don’t know how he got here! He just appeared on our doorstep. Y’all are witnesses, right?
Jeez. I am a bad person. I’m really bad, because he’s clean smelling and has just been groomed. But he has no tags from getting his shots!!!
I really don’t know what to do. I told Dad that if they come by, to tell them he just showed up, and give him back.
He is SO HAPPY!!! Argggh. He’s wrestling with Ernie and Lucy.
OMG Rebo poor Dipsey though. I hope you won’t get into trouble!
SpecialOne, congrats on the great grad! Special Teen, right?
And yay indeed for new, homegrown tomatoes, taxi! And oh, I want to try that chocolate malt cupcake recipe so much – I’ll have to see if it will work with splenda crosses appropriate appendages.
Ouchie, FCM! Hope you feel okay in the morning!
GT, thanks for the info on Muppet - hope her arm is healing okay. My bro (the one with the broken wrist from the skateboard incident … ) has a shortie cast and the ortho told him that typing was good exercise for it. LOL
Went to the doctor, got my asthma meds. Had to put my PC in the shop, it had a virus, and the hard drive was failing. Total cost this week: $532.00 , and that’s before buying beerverages.:eek:
Yay Sticky!!!
Yay specialteen!!!
rRebo, don’t you hate when strange dogs follow you home. I’ll still trade you Gordie for Dipsey.
If you e-mail him before Friday tell him/her to look for the Amish-looking dude at Waldameer. I’ll keep my eyes open for him/her but depending what he/she lost it may not be obvious. What would be the home town?
I guess we all need to buy our own drinks. I don’t know who had to sleep with who to make it happen but all the conventioners got one ride on Sky Rocket tonight. Everyone reports “FANFRIKKINTASTIC”! It even gives you airtime upside down.I think they got a hit on their hands.
Happy Birthday, PicuNurse!
My phone line was installed today; the appointment was at 10 but the tech called saying his 9am had failed and could he come sooner and I agreed so enthusiastically that he laughed. So, I was late to work but I was one hour less late than expected, which made the boss happy. A happy boss is a good thing. The router is supposed to get delivered within the next 48 hours, but that’s likely to mean that they won’t catch me at home… in which case I’ll be helping open the Post Office Saturday at 8am.
Up and caffeinating - I cain’t see this morning! LOL Ain’t no 'count! Cain’t fetch a breath!! I’ll have to share the story behind the previous at some time … not this morning though, because it’s beyond my thought processes right now!
