Reactionaries of the world unite!

You have nothing to lose but your boats, your wage-slaves, your expensive cars, your mansions, your fine wines, and your expensive hookers. You have a world to destroy.

I like my expensive car and mansion. And I love my expensive hookers, thank you very much.

Count me out.

I lost an expensive hooker once. It turned out she kind of slipped down in between the cushions of the couch, with the TV remote.

I would *like[/i an expensive car (or any car really) and a mansion (but an Edwardian cottage would do), and if you were to deprive me of fine wine, I would be positively bereft. I am aiming to be a reactionary…it’s my ambition!

Oh, I don’t need expensive hookers, otherwise that’d be one of my ambitions too!!

Tell me, do you think all people are equal?

Who are ya asking Gary?

If I may venture an answer here (on the offchance you might have directed the question to anybody who might be in or reading this thread) then YES, all people are equal, but NO, there is no equality of opportunity in the real sense of the term. This is just MHO, but has been repeatedly supported by socio/economic studies over the years. To suggest that every human person has the same ability and/or resources to become ‘successful’ is naive in the extreme…(and I am NOT saying that you are suggesting that, JFTR, OK? )

I’m asking Chumpsky, but your reply was more than welcome Kam.

Out of interest, if we’re all equal, then how do you better yourself. Not financially, but as a person - intelectually, spiritually, or emotionally.

If I’m a smarter person this year than I was last, perhaps I studied, or learnt through experience, am I not a better person than I was last year.

And if I can better myself, than how can all people be equal?

My name is Torgo, I drive a Yugo.

“All men are physico-chemically equal.” —Henry Foster of Brave New World

Looked at that way, all men are worth about $1.73 US, too, I think.

Equality is a slippery concept.

Are we all of equal value as human beings? Well, some would argue that killers are of lesser inherient worth than other people, simply because they have a psychopathic personality disorder. Others would argue that certain other groups of people are worth less than different groups. I take the view that everyone has equal worth, and nobody is worth so much he can deprive someone else of life or property.

Do we all start out equal? Well, some people are born to wealthy families and have large natural talents, while others are born in Somalia with severe handicaps and AIDS (to pick an example). That much is random. Of course, statistics don’t negate success stories, and telling someone that an invisible `System’ is holding him back is an insult to all the talent that person possesses.

Do we all have equal rights? Yes, whether or not the law recgonizes them, whether or not society protects them. The majority can no more revoke a fundamental right (such as self-defense) than it can justify cold-blooded homicide or alter the laws of physics.

Chumpsky, you’re allright in my book matey.

ookay…

mansion? no
wage-slaves? no
boat… does an inflatable raft (w. broken air pump) count?
car… toyota Camry. so-so monthly payment
expensive hookers? I’m saving to get Teri Weigel next time I’m in Nevada
a world to destroy? Ooh! Ooh! do I get my very own DEATH STAR? If so, I say we zap Pluto – finish once and for all the confusion as to whether it is a planet or not!

BTW, take a poll around the folks drinking Pabst, driving rebuilt Chevy pickups, and patronizing cheap strip clubs, who live at the trailer park – you’ll find as many staunch supporters of reaganomics and American military hegemony as you would at a caviar soiree in the yatchs docked in Palm Beach. I tell you, it’s the poor who are the threat!

Then again I’m not a reactionary, but a garden-variety moderate-liberal…

When you put it that way, you make me feel so cheap.

Regards,
Shodan

This is in the Pit why? Seems MPSIMS. BTW, you do have another trick- right?

Well, hell, Sho. You are cheap, aren’t you?

Me, I’ll take my destruction retail, thanks.

And I’m keeping the farmhouse, land and wage slaves. Who else would do the lawn and clean the house? Moi?

Surely, you jest.

Can we lose you, chumpsky?
PLLLLEEEEEEEZZZE?

I haven’t got a boat. No one works for me. Is a three-year-old Subaru “expensive”, in your book? I live in a “mansion”, true enough, but it’s one that was converted into six flats, and I’m moving to an apartment complex in Texas later this month. I like wine; sometimes I’ll pay as much as ten bucks a bottle for it. I’ve got a good friend who works as a stripper, but I’m afraid I don’t know any hookers, cheap, pricey or otherwise.

Who the fuck does the OP think he’s talking to, anyway? It seems his mental image of us is of the guy on the ‘Monopoly’ logo.

You mean the world’s reactionaries aren’t already united? Then all those Chumpskyite claims about the International Capitalist Conspiracy™ and its continuing plot to grind socialist nations into the dust are false???

You’ve shaken my world to its foundations.
I will have to console myself with some cheap wine and a Britney Spears video.

I wanna be a wage slave when I grow up.
