Just finished John Barnes’ Kaleidoscope Century. Entertaining read, but I think not very successful as a standalone novel–it makes much much more sense when you’ve also read his Candle.
Lucifers Hammer by Pournell and Niven
The Millionaire Next Door…and I don’t recall who that was by.
The Old Curiosity Shop, by Charles Dickens. It has some moments of humor and humanity – like lots of other C.D. novels.
