So many people on this board read a post and don’t even stop to think about anything before submitting a reply. It is ridiculous and embarrassing. So many assumptions, no benefit of the doubt, no intellectual consideration, no empathising, no figuring the best way to interpret someone’s post… just double-friggin’ click! I guess that’s gonna happen when you got people here who are averaging a post a minute on this board. Quantity is overtaking quality here people… I hope you see this. Do something about it. THINK before you post. Some guy just rattled off something that had nothing to do with the topic in one of my threads. And a week ago, some guy tried to “whoosh” me but screwed up… and then never realized he screwed up! Because he didn’t READ & THINK! Don’t be one of these, read and think. AND GIVE THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT TO YOUR FELLOW DOPERS BEFORE POSTING A REPLY!!! I’m out.

I should add that reading and thinking are good things to do before posting. I agree with you there, but I’m not quite sure that I’m seeing an increase in thoughtless posts. If you provide a cite or two we can go from there.

I agree with Fuel!! People need to learn to slow down and read and not be rushing off to the gym all the time. Why do you need to work out so much? How is that going to help your post count? (Answer: it’s not.)

Here’s one cite. Specifically, it’s the thread in which Fuel was whooshed by my post, and Fuel came up with a bizarrely convoluted rationale for why I had screwed up the “whoosh,” as he put it. All of this, of course, triggered by Fuel’s clumsy use of English, followed by his declaration that it’s everyone else’s fault that they can’t understand him. (And why is it their fault? Because they don’t READ & THINK before posting!)

Normally, this type of occurrence alone wouldn’t bother me. But it keeps happening to me, so I thought I would voice it here. Nothing against Dogface at all in the above thread. I am sure he/she is a very quality person, but he/she just blatantly did not understand my posts, or at least made a huge leap to assume something for no apparent reason. This is what I am talking about. It’s simply a product of communicating detailed ideas on a message board. I am not sure if it’s out of control or anything, but it’s just kind of annoyed me lately, that’s all.
