Reccomend webcomics

What are some good webcomics you’ve encountered?

Penny Arcade. Consistenly fresh and funny, updated thrice weekly, and the writing of the newsposts is some of the best I’ve seen. Tycho is an extraordinarily gifted writer, in my (professional) opinion.

Homestarrunner.com, especially the Strong Bad Emails. Animation rather than strictly static toons, but hilarious.

Achewood is the best webcomic running. I can almost guarantee you won’t appreciate it until you’ve read it for a while, though. He rarely does single strips that stand on their own.

Scary Go Round is hardly ever laugh-out-loud hilarious, but the art’s great, it’s really imaginative, and just a lot of fun.

I just got into web comics and will be watching this for ideas, but here’s a few of my favorites:

Something*Positive - Sadistically funny and intelligent with moments of gut wrenching emotion. One of the best things I’ve ever read. Period.

Queen of Wands - Alternately hysterically funny and deadly serious. First web comic I got serious on.

Ctrl-Alt-Del - Gaming comic that is accessible to a mere amateur gamer like myself.

There’s more but these are the ones I read religiously. Hope you enjoy.

Neko the Kitty.

Neko is my god.

Jeff is his prophet.

Wigu, 8-Bit Theater, 10K Commotion (it’s about DDR, but I love the art), RPG World and I’d just like to second Scary-Go-Round.

SGR, 8BT, and Wigu are all high-quality. Something Positive is my favorite strip, but it’s definitely not for everyone. I’ll second Sluggy as well. Be sure to check out Diesel Sweeties, Questionable Content, and Sam & Fuzzy.

Partially Clips and White Ninja are not for everyone, but the people who like them like them a lot.

I’m no good at coding, but these two and Sluggy Freelance are the ones I like to keep tabs on. I used to read Bruno the Bandit and Elf Life, they were fun.

menwithhats (currently on hiatus 'coz creator’s computer went kerblooie)

Someone else on SDMB turned me onto You Damn Kid. He compared it to Family Circus, though, which is pretty insulting. No pointless dashed lines and kid guest-artists in this comic.

I’m required to plug Dan Wheeler’s Happy Freaking Ray of Goddamn Sunshine, a sarcastic minimalist look at dating and apartment hunting.

I can’t explain why I’m required, since I’m trying to maintain my air of mystery.

<stalks off to overthrow a goverment – or to eat some waffles – for all you know>

My dailies are PVP and Schlock Mercenary.

Another vote for Megatokyo. Very very good.

VG Cats is a gamic comic that has very good art (although I have to admit that, not being a B5 fan, I didn’t much care for the latest strip). This is probably a better example of a good strip.

Chopping Block also has a really nice, unique art style and is good for dark serial killer humor.

Boy on a Stick and Slither . It’s just bizarre. Updated every Monday and Friday.

I second Wigu, especially any of the Topato and Sheriff Pony strips.

Sexy Losers

Be warned, this comic is about as far from worksafe as it is possible to get.
