Yes, I’m missing the same ones. I imagine that little glitch will be rectified in good time.
I’m with Algernon on this - I find the colours very restful, and I don’t see any “dead space” (probably because I’m on a 15" monitor at 800 x 600?).
Hooray! Someone else is using my preferred style.
Say, Shrinking Violet, send some flowers for Algernon?
The dead space I’m referring to is the amount of vertical space between the bottom of the body of one post to the top of the body of the next post. Interestingly, I’ve just measured it and both styles have exactly the same amount of dead space. It’s obviously a matter of perception.
I’m guessing that the thickish band of light blue-grey at the top of each post is a distraction for me, and I’m subconsciously interpreting it as having more dead space.
I don’t know for others, but I only get a full screen display when using “straight dope” style. The others give me a grey/blank space at both sides.
I’m a complete PC illiterate, so I have no idea why that happens. Not that I care. Just wondering if others see the same.

(By way of a test and a thankyou in one go :))
Another thank you for the fix here! Also another vote for “Straight Dope” style by virtue of the column widths.

The quote counts towards message length.
No, it doesn’t
You are right. He must just have included non-displayable characters.
There’s a space after the 1 (if you slide your mouse pointer over the text, you can see it “jump” across the space).
Well, that doesn’t work for me. I tried a 1 with a space but it wouldn’t accept it.
Q.E.D. used the non-breaking space,   or  . Regular spaces get compressed out.

Well that figures… I just recently discovered you can use Alt+0160 to put spaces in Visual Basic variable names‚ and now somebody uses one in a MB post & it slips right past my attention!
And when previewing the above text with only non breaking spaces, itcameoutlookinglikethis.
