Yes, I’m using Straight Dope style because it looks nicer. I take it the various viewing style options use different templates and not all of them have been updated?

While wer’e at it, “location” is apparently displayed in some but not all skins.
If it would make things any easier on you guys, is it possible to eliminate some of the skins? I note, for instance, that we have both a “Straight Dope” style and a “Straight Dope Message Board vBulletin 3” style.

Please, please do not eliminate the “Straight Dope Message Board vBulletin 3” style. I much prefer the color scheme and font selection compared to the “Straight Dope” style. The “Straight Dope” style is much too harsh for my taste.

Not mocking you or anything, just pointing out that people like both styles for various reasons.
On the contrary. I’m flattered. 
I was moved to post my plea because I perceive that very few people are using the “too much dead space” style, which I prefer. I became paranoid then when Chronos suggested eliminating styles to lessen the workload of the admins.
Yeah, keep all the different styles. It is a great feature of the new SDMB.
Do the smileys look like ghosts in all the syles?
Well, in the style I use, the smilies are ghostly. Plus, I’m missing “smack”, “dubious”, “wally” and “happy orthodox jewish man”. I really don’t miss them much, except for “smack”, which I found quite useful.
