Recommend an Electric Razor

I tried using an electric many years ago. But the ones I tried could never do much of a job on my neck. Admittedy, the ones I tried tended to be on the inexpensive side.

I have been shaving my head for more than a decade now. Razors used to be cheap, but now quality blades fetch top dollar. I think it may be worth spending 100-250 dollars on an electric, saving that much in blades 12-14 months.

But I need one that will work on my neck and I do n ot want to buy two or three before finding one.

So, anyone using an electric that will fit the bill?

I’ve been partial to the Braun microscreens for a while now. The current units that have the cleaning/charging stations with them keep the blades in good condition.
I’ve had a few of those Norelco round head types but they were never that great.

This Panasonic wet/dry.

13,000 rpm; close shave wet or dry; keeps a good charge; very close shave and you clean it just by running water over it while it’s running. Don’t pay more for the next level up with the fancy cleaning station.

I LOVE this razor. My 2c. I’ve had Panasonics for years. Tried and discarded Norelco and Braun on occasion.

I second a wet/dry electric. I’ve got a Philips/Nivea piece. Don’t hate shaving anymore.

I’ve had a number of them and I find they all suck. Some less then others.

I use a Norelco atm. It’s fine for what it does which is mostly save me the time from actually shaving.

The new wet/dry ones are miles better than the old models.
I love my Braun, but my brother swears by his Panasonic.

One thing - you will likely get a crappy shave the first couple times you use it. I’ve heard claims that your face needs to be conditioned - I think it just takes practice.
Anyway give it a week, maybe a little more.

I use a Norelco triple-head rotary, but I’ve never really compared it to other brands.

I’ve found that using Williams Lectric Ultra pre-shave gel makes shaving much easier, but I haven’t been able to find it lately. The liquid doesn’t work as well.

I’ve never had a Braun that didn’t break on me. I’ve returned them all and I have a light beard. Norelco seems to be the best for me.

You have to remember with an electric you need your skin to be AS DRY as possible. This is just the opposite of a blade.

You also need to strech your skin as you shave it and work the beard with the grain and against it as well.

And you can get a nice shave from an electric razor, it’s never going to be like a razor
