Recommend me a mail order cookie company

Hi guys! I would like to send someone cookies for their birthday on September 27. Ideally they would be chocolate chip cookies and/or black and white cookies. I would like to spend about $50 including shipping.

There are thousands of companies that would like to help me with this. Let me know if you have used a company with great cookies and great service.

Thanks!

Someone sent me a gift box from these guys for my birthday last year. There were some pretty good cookies in it.

I haven’t ordered anything from them yet, because alas, I am too poor, but their fall cookies look amazing. They also have candy and jams/jellies.

A warning that if you order anything from Harry & David, you will forever be on their mailing list and get junk flyers and promos for the rest of your life and beyond.

FYI, Harry & David screwed me badly one Christmas not long ago.

Sorry to hear that. All I can say is that I received a gift box from them, and the cookies were very nice.

I have not, but many years ago I was sent a cookie bouquet and absolutely loved it. They now go by the name “Cookies by Design”.

They have an “Under $45.99” so I expect they can fit in your budget. I just know I loved the presentation when I got them, and the cookies were pretty good too.

They’ve been around since 1983, so they’re not some new company.

The best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had!
They are HUGE, I usually break them into 4 pieces, pop them into the microwave for 10 seconds, just to warm them up. Addiction occurs rapidly.

It has been a looooonnnng time since I’ve partaken, but Charles Chips was good stuff.

I’ve ordered midnight chocolate chunk cookies from Cookies For Kids Cancer and they were quite good, while supporting a worthwhile cause. Looks like $35 for a dozen plus $10 shipping. I can vouch for the company, as a trusted and connected relative whose child was battling brain cancer put quite a bit of weight behind promoting it.

At $30 for four cookies, they’d better be the size of a dinner plate.

Who’d have thought talking about cookies would bring back so many posters? Nice to see y’all.

We could have a competition–we make cookies and ship to your friend and they judge… I’m going Tollhouse with Maldon salt flakes on top.

I agree. I moved out of NYC 6 months ago. They were $4 each. Now $5 each in the store. Looks like shipping is the rest of it. One cookie shared by 2 people is a mice dessert.

This is making me hungry! I did find frozen Levain cookies in a grocery store one time. They’re probably not as nice as the ones shipped from the bakery, but they were cheaper, and they were pretty darn good.

Then I’m ordering extras!

My sister sends Harry & David parcels to me and my parents. I’ve never received anything from them that wasn’t top-notch quality, with one exception and that was a parcel that had a couple of spoiled pears. I let her know, and she contacted their customer service and a few days later, I got a DOZEN really nice looking fruits.

Too funny! I always create the most appropriate typos!!
