I know this is last minute (I’m going into the city tonight), but my friend has left it up to me to find a place for us to go. I’ve looked around on citysearch but it’s hard to pick something at random by name.
I asked a friend for a suggestion and he thought of Mod. I checked out their website and from the pictures it looks really cool, but some of the reviews on citysearch were downright nasty (even though there were good ones too).
I’m feeling more of a laid back lounge vibe, definitely not a club. I asked her what kind of place she felt like going and she said “fun” which I think goes for everyone. She might want to be able to dance, and I like to sometimes but I’m not so much in the mood for that.
The neighborhood isn’t really important, but accessibility by a subway that runs to Penn or Herald Square is important.
