Red Lump on My Inner Right Thigh.

Just so you all know, I am under a doctor’s care. I am seeing him next month barring unforeseen circumstances. And I have had this bump for a couple of weeks, and I think it’s getting smaller. So it’s clearly not life threatening. (And once again to make clear, I am asking if I should see my doctor earlier. I am not seeking medical advice.)

Yeah, I have a red lump on my right inner thigh. I guess it is the size of a grape (though as I said, it is getting smaller). It doesn’t hurt unless my jeans run against it. It doesn’t look like an injury (how would I bump my inner thigh?). Also, as I’ve said before, I do have the BEGINNING stages of Type 2 Diabetes.

And of course I needn’t tell you all how hard it’ll be to get a doctor’s appointment in the age of Coronavirus hysteria we have been suddenly thrust into.

Suggestions?

EDIT: Oh, and it may contain blood. That is why I think it is shrinking (it feels like a deflated balloon now).

:):):):):):)

From your description it sounds like well, it could be almost freaking anything.

Probably not a zit (I say this from personal experience of what it’s like to have a zit on your inner thigh). If it continues each day to get smaller and it’s tending to go away, an early visit to the doctor doesn’t seem called for.

You wanted opinions, that’s mine. Maybe one of our resident qualified MDs will come along and give a more educated one.

I had a weird cyst or something in my inner thigh once that was not visible on the surface but was palpable.

I would squeeze it and some foul smelling pus would come out and it would disappear and then come back every couple months, eventually it went away for good, sorry a little TMI I know.

Keep your doctor’s appt. It could be some kind of abscess. Yes, they usually hurt more, but you never know.

Sounds like a boil. I’ve had a couple over the years in that area. They suck. Usually treated by hot compresses, and most likely, a lancing, followed by antibiotics. When lanced, the “stuff” usually gets sent off to make sure it’s not MRSA. Good luck.

I get those like they’re my job. Sebaceous cysts for me.

But yes do keep the doctor appointment, you need to make sure that it’s checked for infection and if they decide to lance it, you get the proper wound care.

Hot compress can help, if you want to try that in the meantime. My doc told me to wet a clean washcloth, put it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, and then press on the area for 10-15 minutes. Any longer isn’t that useful. If it’s a really hard to reach with a compress, I fill the tub with the hottest water I can stand and soak in it for 10-15 minutes. It really does help dry it up.

FWIW, I think I may have a hematoma. I think it may shrinking. The other day it started bleeding. Yikes! I still plan on going to my doctor next month. So we’ll see.
