I wonder if he is ill. I thought he’d work until he died.
Maybe Kelly’s husband Mark will get the co-host job?
I hope Regis isn’t sick and just decided to quit while he still has all his faculties about him unlike some people coughLarryKingcough
I like Regis and Kelly they play off well together. I wonder if she’ll continue on her own with a new partner? If so who?
Maybe Kelly and Kathy Lee
He’s 80, for crying out loud, and has logged more TV time than any other American. (Don’t recall the exact stat, I had ET on last night while I was making dinner, etc.)
I remember him from a morning show he and Sarah Purcell did in LA in the '70s. Loved Sarah Purcell.
Regis was on TV farther back than that. Joey Bishop had a late night talk show on ABC which was in competition with Carson and the Tonight Show and ran from 1967-1969. Regis was his announcer/second banana.
David Letterman called him yesterday and Regis said he wasn’t retiring from the entertainment industry, just from his TV show.
My mother was in tears, see she is 78 and he is from her generation and can relate to him in the matter of the old days.
I’ll miss him. My pick as a new co-host: Neil Patrick Harris.
What about Anderson Cooper?
Larry King was on Craig Ferguson last night, and they were hilarious together.
A radio DJ from here in Ottawa apparently is going to be Kelly’s co-host for a day. It made the headlines of the Ottawa Sun yesterday!
