Regular folks who pull the race card like celebrities do.

The article that inspired my OP.. Please read through first.

Didn’t know WHERE to post this one. If it doesn’t belong here, Mods please place it where it does.

For African-Americans, does this kind of article rankle or ring true or embarrass or anger or bemuse or have zero effect? Is it connected to day to day life for you? For anyone living in a society / country where they are in the extreme minority race-wise, does this kind of thing ring true, etc etc?

I’m not asking if racist situations exist. Duh. I’m asking where this collection of situations rests on the scale of, well, how it relates to non-celebrity life?

If something odd happens to me, racism is often one of the hypotheses I quietly consider. It’s never the only hypothesis, though. I usually have several for any given incident of social strangeness or injustice.

I wouldn’t mention my hunch out in the open unless I had strong proof or if the mishap fits a bigger pattern. Because if there’s anything worse than racists giving you a hard time, it’s not being believed.
