Relatively inexpensive fragrant body wash?

Do you live near a Trader Joe’s? THIS stuff is the best!!!

Tea Tree Tingle with Mint

I don’t know. All of our stores suddenly stopped carrying any soaps that had a long-lasting nice scent. I used to buy one by St. Ives that was called Vanilla and Eidelweiss (sp?) and the stopped carrying it. Then there was one by a company called Body Fantasies, out of Canada and they stopped carrying that. And here’s what’s weird, when I contacted the company online to order it, they had this weird disclaimer that they weren’t “allowed” to ship it to Alaska anymore.

Then softsoap brand had this nice one (can’t remember the name, but it was in a purple bottle) that I SWEAR was seriously close to the scent of the old 70s shampoo “Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific”. And it has mysteriously disappeared from store shelves as well.

Grrrrrrrrr… I swear, it’s a conspiracy to keep me from smelling nice (I don’t like perfumes, they’re often too strong. The scent some soaps leave behind is perfect, nice but barely noticeable).

Exactly. I think as I age, too, my sensitivity to certain smells is increasing (I assumed it would go the other way, but whatevs). I stopped by in Bath and Body Works to pick up some hand soap (which completely exhibit the phenomena I mentioned earlier about smelling good post-wash) and tried on one of their tester lotions. Once I got in my car, I thought the lotion smell was overpowering. As a tween, I used to love their stuff.
Thanks for the recommendations, everyone! I will definitely check these out!

For dudes, the Irish Spring body washes last a while and I like them, but the wife put the kibosh on my continued use. Anyway, if they make one for gals, it might be worth checking out.

It’s $8.00/gallon, and is a concentrate that makes eight gallons. The Passionfruit/sage is my favorite, but go down to the nearest Sally’s and have a whiff, they’re all pretty good. . . just keep in mind they are concentrated, and won’t be too strong once you dilute them. I use it for shampoo, bodywash and to refillthe handsoap dispensers. My house smells great and it’s cheap as all get-out!

Oh thanks! I knew I could count on dopers!

He might like streaking though. d&r

I came here to mention Irish Spring and saw this - I’m a gal and I LOVE Irish Spring. It’s very fresh and herbal, like cut grass, there’s nothing particularly “manly” about it  (unless there’s some variation I haven’t sniffed). Mmmmm. Of course, most Bath & Body Works cucumber-musk-blackberry-vanilla stuff makes me retch, so what do I know?

TruCelt, I just wanted to let you know that I ended up trying this and it was a great suggestion! I finally don’t stank. Thanks.
