Reluctantly — Fuck Texas

This headline on the CNN website looks at first like the title of a new superhero movie or comic, concerned with current issues:

Bumble and Match pledge to help people affected by Texas abortion law

I see Bumble as a somewhat chubby, yellow-and-black costumed male superhero with the proportionate powers of a bumblebee, while Match can start fires wherever she wants. They’re vigilantes taking on Texas Law Enforcement, defying the new statute

This has been my line of thinking as well, Republicans don’t get to talk out of both sides of their mouths any longer and martyr themselves on a cross of defiance to save the unborn without having to deal with the ramifications of a ban. Other GOP congressmen and governors now have to pick a side about Texas and that will no be pretty come the next election cycle, either for the primary if they do nothing or the general if they do.

Well, hell, I could use $10,000. Could someone let me know if there’s some poor Uber driver somewhere I can sue?

Maybe go for an unfortunate Uber driver, rather than a poor Uber driver.

Maybe I could sue Uber itself. Maybe I could sue the hospital that assisted in the birth of the abortion enabler. The possibilities are endless.

Yeah, democracy’s a bitch.

I am intrigued by your ideas and would like to have your Kickstarter info.

Maybe set up camp outside an abortion clinic and call in the plates of women with Trump stickers on their cars.

My wife does substitute teaching and as she is bi-lingual often teaches in heavily Hispanic classes. Going into the last election she had several instances of kids saying Joe biden was going to mandate the killling of babies. These kids were of an age where they presumably would have picked up the opinions at home, and whoes parents were people Trump would have described as rapists and bad people, and economically had no benefit in voting for trump, if they could vote. Yes an anecdote but Abortion legislation is a massive issue in hispanic communities.

As one who was born in Texas, lived most of my life there, and still am a current resident, I don’t have the slightest bit of reluctance in saying, “Fuck Texas”. This state needs to feel the pain that it is owed from its brazen cruelty and stupidity.

Despite the fact that abortion rates as a percentage of all pregnancies are substantially higher among Hispanics than among whites.

In general, Catholics make up about 22% of the US population and about 24% of abortion patients (judging by reported religious affiliation).

Hipocracy from religious people, never would I have believed it.

How can you “reluctantly fuck” anything? Both the physical act and the invective require at least a modicum of passion and, to be honest, it’s usually quite a bit more than a “modicum”. LOL

Hell, they’re gerrymandered into red districts. Texas is conservative enough the idea is to have a bunch of barely red districts around every city. Check congressional district 2. It’s a gigantic C-shaped district. Driving directly from one end of the C to the other takes more than an hour, assuming it’s not rush hour.

I suspect Catholic prohibitions on many forms of birth control might figure into the “ooops - abort or not?” phenomena.

I’m willing to establish a stop on that Railroad, if needed.

I’m just waiting for one of the Texas legislators or one of their partners to have a miscarriage. Drag them into court and make them prove that they didn’t take an abortion pill. Make them have to pay for a doctor to come and testify that they lost the baby “naturally”. Lord help them if they need a D&C for any “valid” reason. Again, drag them into court and make them show why they needed it. Go into detail about their disfunctional bleeding and again make them prove that it wasn’t done to terminate a pregnancy. That may be the only way to demonstrate how invasive such questioning can be, especially when someone is dealing with stressful situation.

I disagree. Melania Trump is my Exhibit A.

I wholeheartedly agree with this strategy.

I want the “Like” button back.
