“Round And Round” by Frozen Ghost from 1988!
A very good song indeed… the band may be better known for “Dream Come True” which I believe is from 1989.

Well, I’m glad you found the song. I had this vague tune playing in my head based on the lyric snippets you posted. I have no way of knowing if this Frozen Ghost single is the right one.
Are they a Canadian band? Was Round and Round a hit only in Canada?
