Rememberance of Hearthrobs Past

Golly. Remember Ken Olin, dreamy Michael from Thirtysomething and star of many Lifetime movies? Sheesh I liked him a lot. He had this sort of “guy you might really know” quality…and such a nice jaw, and his voice. You could tell he was a Chicago boy.

Whatever happened to Ken Olin? And why don’t they show reruns of Thirtysomething anywhere?

He’s dreamy.

Mmmm.

My first “true love” - Shawn Cassidy. The Hardy Boys, fun for the whole family. Watch as Mama Scout drools over Parker Stevenson. Then, behold, as Wee Scout swoons over Shawn Cassidy. Ah, the days.

There are so many, yet I think I’ll only offer up two. My second one being Rick Springfield. Jesse’s Girl? Screw Jesse, I wanna be Rick’s girl!

I’m with scout Shawn Cassidy. :: wisful swooning ::

I was no more than 6 or 7 years old when I “loved” him.

I also had a girl-hood crush on Bert Convy (yes, I was a strange child).

Shaun Cassidy, feh.

David Cassidy and Rick Springfield. I still have the hots for Rick and he still looks damn fine!

I knew Mauvaise had good taste

I know there’s more, but those were the first two posters that graced my walls.

jarbabyj - I wonder too what happened to him. Remember Miles Drentell from Thirtysomething? He has been on Once and Again -as Miles Drentell… Well, I realize that that isn’t related to your thread but I thought I would just throw that in. Lifetime use to play reruns of Thirtysomething but I haven’t seen any for a while.

As for my crush - I use to love Adam Ant - absolutely love him! I was convinced that I would some day marry him and my name would be Christy Goddard… (his real last name) I saw him in concert twice  My bedroom walls were covered with posters/pictures of him. I use to take a framed picture of him with me on vacation… Wonder what ever happened to him…

aahhh youth…

[Homer drooling] Adam Ant…[/homer drooling]
The Unrequited Love Muffins of Shirley’s Angst Years:

Rick Simon
Bo Duke
Dirk Benedict
Parker Stevenson
Epstein (from Welcome Back Kotter. Don’t ask me why, It’s not clear even to me.)

Illya Kuryakin.

Jon Bon Jovi was my love when I was 13. We lasted a few years, but I decided at some point that he was too much of a pretty-boy, and left him for James Hetfield.
Me and James had a long and interesting love affair. My best friend was with Kirk Hammett, so it all worked out.

Now, Dave Matthews is my man. Oh, how I love him…::sigh::
Rose

Amen!

[sub]Am I the only one who found Lurch of the Adams Family strangely attractive? Uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh, love those strong, silent types.[/sub]

I was just a little weird…

Spock, and Captain Kirk

Jim West from Wild, Wild West

Later, the first Hannibal Heyes from “Alias Smith and Jones”, the one who killed himself. sigh I had my first erotic daydreams about him.

Sting and John Taylor from Duran Duran.

Must have had a thing for bassists in my teenage years

As a young girl I had a huge crush on Roy Rosello from Menudo. Then I discovered the hot and sexy Yul Brynner, his dying did not damper my love for him, just assured me that he was totally beyond my reach. Lately I’ve been totally hot for Christian Bale, what a hotty!

Oh, man, this is embarrassing, but here goes…

[li]General John S. Mosby, “Gray Ghost” of the Confederacy. Famous for his guerrilla fighting tactics that gave McClellan heart attacks during the first half of the War Between the States. (Yes, he was long dead by the time I discovered him, but I suppose I had issues…!)[/li]
[li]Freddie Bartholomew, child star in the 1930’s.[/li]
[li]Vic Morrow. My introduction to him was a live-action Disney movie made in 1977 called Treasure of Matecumbe in which he played a VERY sexy (at least to me when I was a prepubescent girlie) scalliwag of a villain.[/li]
[li]Peter Lorre. I know. He was dead, too, just like Gen. Mosby. Don’t ask.[/li]
[li]Eric Braedon. He played a smart but evil German officer on the old 1960’s show “Rat Patrol”, a weekly drama about the North African Theater in WW2. His name was originally Hans Gudecast, but he apparently changed it later. I think you can STILL see the guy on some soap opera… maybe “The Young and the Restless”?[/li]And more recently:

[li]Rutger Hauer. He rocked in Bladerunner.[/li]
My all-time biggest TV/Movie Heartthrob, though, has gotta be Chris Sarandon, most notable for his delectable, scenery-crunching performance in the 1985 vampire flick Fright Night. I still have to watch that movie every year right around Halloween. I am SUCH a sucker for dark hair and dark eyes! …And bad boys, apparently. Heh, heh.

Okay, I am now officially humiliated, yet somehow cleansed.

TAB HUNTER

There’s an awsome pic of him on EBAY right now that I’ll be bidding on.(In fact, when I saw it, I yelled F— so loud I think I woke my downstairs neighbors).

I have to admit I’m with Zyada when it comes to James West, though I was also very fond of Artemis Gordon. But I was drawn to Bones (Dr. McCoy), rather than Kirk or Spock–it’s the emotional type, I guess.

In the name of full disclosure, I have to admit to a crush on (Gods, this is embarassing) Trampus from The Virginia. Yes, Doug McLure, star, co-star and eventually special guest star in any number of bad movies, the guy that they mock so well on The Simpsons. i thought he was really cute. I liked James Drury, too (I was fickle as a child, wasn’t I), but Trampus was really the guy I watched.

But I’ve redeemed myself, really I have. In Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid I discovered Paul Newman (old enough to be my father, but much better than pretty boy R. Redford),and I’ve never looked back. My crushes are now fully within acceptable limits of respectability. Of course, some of them are now young enough to be my, well let’s just say nephews, shall we, but then, I don’t really have much chance of actually going to bed with Ben Affleck, so it’s not that big of a concern.

Back in my day (::cough::), it was Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Jonathan Brandis. Yeah, that was only 5 or 6 years ago, what’s your point? Speaking of, has anyone seen either of them lately? Talk about disappearing acts…
[sub]This is my 400th post. Please, throw money…[/sub]

I will third that emotion. I love Adam Ant. Did you guys ever see him when he did the ‘guest star’ role on The Equalizer? And he was a white slavery dealer who kidnapped teenage girls…

I…I think it’s his fault my sexual proclivities are so whacked.

MY LOVE FOR PARKER STEVENSON SHALL NEVER DIE.

Pammipoo, ahem…I’m…going to be 29 this year…and I have such an undying crush on Johnathan Taylor Thomas. OH JTT…he’s so cute.

And still, no one knows where my Ken Olin grows…he’s a Chicago boy, I wonder if he’s in town.
