I know how to make a link by cut and paste, but what I need to learn (again) is how to rename the link, for example I post a link to www.crankyolddude.com and I want to name it “This is our next president”. I hope that makes sense, and trust me when I say I searched for this but couldn’t find anything (let’s blame the new server). Many thanks for helping a cranky old doper.

The other thing you can do in the Advanced Reply box is write the text you want as the link, then select the text, and click the icon that looks like a “globe with chain” which you add the URL into. That will convert the text into a working link.
