Microsoft update 314409 causes Outlook to run in safe mode. I am a Novell guy, and no longer the Network Admin since we went to Windows server. Unfortunately, the Admin isn’t much more knowledgeable than I. You can repair the Outlook problem by uninstalling the update, or by editing the registry. Can either of these be done by the server? I do not look forward to fixing this on two hundred PCs.
If they are in a domain you can use Group Policy to deploy a script to modify the registry at login.
Cool, thanks!
It’s even simpler if your network uses WSUS. You just go into the admin console and approve the update for removal.
Thanks, Quartz!
