Replica watches - where to get them?

I’m not sure if this entirely legal according to board rules, as I will be asking people for links to commercial sites. Eutychus, if I’m out of line, you know what to do.

(Which is of course to close this thread, not to ban me or anything ;))

I really like watches. I want to buy a replica TAG Heuer (since the Real McCoy is rather expensive), preferably a good replica of a Kirium or a 6000 Series - both chronograph. I’ve been looking at some sites, mainly www.unrealwatch.com and www.fakegifts.com, and while their watches appear to be of reasonable quality, the resemblence with the real thing (which I simultaneously check at www.wristwatch.com ) is often poor.

And if I’m spending 100-150 USD, I still want it to be a convincing replica. Also, I would like the company in question to be of good reputation (yeah, I know. A tough one…).

any suggestions, my friends?

Just look for a guy on a street corner with a trenchcoat. Ask to see his merchandise. But for God’s sake, make sure he is wearing pants before you ask.

Have you voted for your favorite, huggable Mullinator today?

Not to hijack this thread but…what the hell

[HIJACK]Why on earth would you want a replica TAG? A real one is an overpriced status watch with an ordinary quartz movement no better than in any Casio or Timex. A fake one is just well, fake and I find that to be pretty cheesy. Anyone it fools won’t really care about watches and anyone who cares about good watches won’t be fooled.[/HIJACK]

Mullinator, you beat me to it.

(Pssssttt! Hey buddy! Wanna buy a watch?)

Honestly though, Coldfire, I share your love of time pieces.

Personally, I would suck it up and save my pennies until I could afford the Tag Heuer; there’s nothing like authenticity!

I could never eat a mouse raw…their little feet are probably real cold going down.

Try Yonge Street in Toronto.

Vestal, I think we have different ideas of what a good timepiece is and that’s okay. Spending $500+ on a quartz watch, even one with a nice case and band, doesn’t work for me. The one-second tics of a quartz watch are a dead giveaway to anyone that knows watches. If I ever have the cash to blow on a truly fine watch I’ll probably drop a grand and get myself an Omega Seamaster (as worn by James Bond™ in The World is Not Enough.) or maybe a Speedmaster moon watch. For that kind of money I’ll get a virtually unscratchable sapphire crystal, a certified movement and a cool little helium valve for when I spend months on a diving bell.

Coldfire, if you want a watch with real substance but still in your price range you can get a 200m Seiko diver with an excellent automatic movement. It’s patterned after a Rolex submariner (pretty much all diver’s watches are) but it isn’t a copy. It holds its own as an honest quality watch and will still work after the EMP from the WWIII nukes blast your TAG clone.

I already own a Seiko Chronograph, and it is a decent watch indeed.

I just like the TAGs, what can I say… it is a matter of taste. FYI, Padeye, they make quartz models AND automatic models. Even the quartz TAGs have sweeping hands - no one-second ticks. A good replica resembles that.

I know my watches. Just don’t wanna pay full price for them
