Reporting myself

I’ve just posted a new thread http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=5536068#post5536068 but on re-reading, the second sentence seems a mite trollish. My apologies. Could some kind mod please delete that second sentence?

You can use that link to report it yourself. Probably get their attention more quickly.

Unless your sentence has already been deleted, I see nothing trollish in that question.

Naah, it’s not so bad.

Some of them ARE moonbats, you know; just who is, well, that might be where your mileage may vary.

My question is with your first sentence. What’s the difference between a Leftie and a Dem? Seems sorta, well, redundant, especially these days.

This is a good way to get Mod attention. Only the Report This Post exclamation point doesn’t show up on your own posts.

Meaning you can’t report your own posts. I have used the exclamation point of the poster directly over my post and explained it was my post I was talking about in the message part of Report This Post bobarooni.

Have I made myself clear?

The other choice we all have is e-mailing the appropriate mod directly. Their names are at the bottom of each forum. They don’t normally bite that hard.

And I’ve been told that putting an subject line like “SDMB: Dear mod I’m a doofus” gets better results than “Bi sexual financial advice Rolex cheap Viagra loans”

Actually, you can report your own posts.

The Report link ([!]) is not displayed for your own posts, but it still works just fine if you know and manually enter the correct URL. In this case, I provided it for him. The option isn’t offered up front, but it’s not disabled.
