I know I should probably know this already, but how do you report something for forum change?
Also, will I get in trouble if I do report something for a forum change, but it was in the correct part of the forum to begin with?

And note that the Report Post triangle is present for every post, even your own. (In an earlier version of the forum software, it wasn’t possible to report your own posts but it has been possible now for several years.) And I don’t think the mods will mind if you make an occasional mistake and mis-report something.
No. You can’t get in trouble for making an incorrect forum report.
I have heard some moderators saying how they would rather get a dozen incorrect reports than not get a legit one
So yeah, based on that, report away, even if you think there is only a slight chance the post is a rules violation, report it anyway.
The worst that will happen is that we’ll decide that the thread doesn’t need to be moved.
I actually end up moving most threads reported for a forum change (nearly always from GQ to IMHO or sometimes GD).
