So when the you reference ALL Republicans, then in fact one Republican speaks for all Republicans. When one liberal says something, he only speaks for himself. What a bunch of disingenuous horseshit…
Well of course not; we already know from another thread that a handfull of irrate Upper West Side-ers equals all liberals
I have to say that it’s weird reading about stuff like this right after reading the various, “What should Republicans do now?” threads in GD. One minute I’m reading various descriptions of a theoretical Republican party that has reasonable positions and would provide a welcome counter-point to the Democrats; the next I read about the actual Republican party and am reminded that lunatics and fanatics still reign.
Of course, living in New York City I already knew that I wasn’t a “real American” anyway. True story; I had to turn in my “Real American” badge upon moving here from Michigan and everything.
Look, you ignorant asshat, do try reading for context, mmkay? My OP is talking about Republican politicians, obviously. They’re the one who are using talking points. (Although I must say you guys are doing your best to emulate them.) And can you show me where, pray, I called all Republicans unAmerican or said you don’t believe in God or hard work or achievements?
And even if I had said all this: I am not an official, elected representative of my party speaking at a public event. I understand this is a difficult concept for you to comprehend, but do try to keep up. These are actual representatives of the McCain campaign, from his running mate and his campaign workers to officials chosen by him to speak at his events, speaking as his vicar. I’m just a gal venting on a message board. The two are not remotely equivalent.
If you genuinely can’t see the difference, you’re deeper in the quagmire of ignorance than you realize.
Personally, I hate fundamentalists. I doubt these people work particularly hard. Although many would consider them “real Americans”.
Case it point (youtube and be careful, it is from English language Al-Jazerra ):
Ooh, I forgot about that! We’ve got them on the East Side too. I just went to a meeting of the Official Spokespeople for Godless Liberals over by Bloomies. It was cool, after plotting to overthrow the religious Real Americans we stopped off and got some lattes at the Starbucks across the street.
Yeah, one minute they can talk about how these fanatics don’t represent the real party, and the next they defend them and destroy the message. But to be fair, it’s difficult to think logically and reasonably when you’ve been thrown off a cliff and are flailing for purchase.
I never even got one of those – I grew up here. But my tattoos of Lenin and Castro make up for it.
Look you ignorant little fuckstain, get the blinders off your eyes and the JFK memorial dildo out of your ass and pay attention. Nowhere in your summary did you reference Republican politicians, you dumbfuck backtracking douchebag. You said … and I motherfucking quote… “I’m sure Republicans will continue their hate-flinging, divisive ugliness, because that’s pretty much all they’ve got left”. Show me where in that sentence… or anywhere in that piece of shit OP where you stated that the fucking retard quoted only represents “Republican politicians”. Here’s a clue you dim little mongoloid, you can’t. You referred to Republicans as a whole…every. fucking. time. Here for your benefit is your quote.
You stupid fucking revisionist cockwart. If you are gonna pop off at least have the fucking stones to say it.
Why do you hate democracy, SA?
Der Trihs hates everybody.
Because SA prefers the clacking boots and stiff leather of fascism?
Gee, do you french kiss your sister with that mouth?
Here’s where I make it clear whom I’m discussing:
In today’s Jeopardy category, “Reading for Comprehension,” the answer is: “The number of regular, nonpolitician Republicans who stand up in front of crowds and try to rev them up for McCain.” Yes, our returning champion chimes in with? “What is ‘zero’, Alex?” YES! Well played, Ken. Next answer: “The number of regular, nonpolitician Republicans who are named Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Nancy Pfotenhauer or Robin Hayes and who have been using geographical/ideological bigotry to aid their candidate?” Ken, your response? “What is ‘bupkis’, Alex?” Perfect! You’ve run the category. Congratulations!
Jesus, you’re too stupid to waste time with. Keep frothing, dumbass guy who registered last month but somehow knows who Reeder is.
Oh I’m sorry, from this comment I see that this vitriolic rant was directed to Robin Hayes after all. Well done, good sir. I’m glad you finally see the light.
and for final Jeopardy…the category is Nothing
The correct question is… What is Choie’s got…?
Sarah Palin (R-AK) 10/17/08: We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation.
Michele Bachmann (R-MN) 10/17/08: What I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating expose and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out if they are pro-America or anti-America
Nancy Pfotenhauer (R-McCain campaign) 10/18/08: I certainly agree that Northern Virginia has gone more Democratic. … But the rest of the state - real Virginia if you will - I think will be very responsive to Senator McCain’s message…Real Virginia, I take to be, this part of the state that’s more Southern in nature, if you will.
Robin Hayes (R-NC) 10/20/08 : Liberals hate real Americans that work and achieve and believe in God.
So, the party is going down in flames and it’s response is to call people who disagree with them fake Americans? That if your fellow politicians have policy disagreements they should be investigated for being anti-American? That the majority of your fellow countrymen and women aren’t really fellow countrymen and women but traitors, bums and are morally corrupt? What in the happy fuck is wrong with The Grand Old Party?
Let me see if I can answer that question: They have selfish assholes like The RandBot on their side, defending the indefensible. Oh and I see CircleofJerk is in on it too. Go at it assholes, defend away!
I’ve got the stones to say it, and this is why. You fuckers have been nearly indistinguishable while marching in lockstep in support of the administration that has gotten us to where we are today. Only a handful have had the stones to step out of line and criticize the party or its leaders. Most of you celebrated in 2004 with a touchdown dance like our own Brickey Shuffle, as if it was all a big game and you just loved being on the winning team. Still, even now, around 70% of Republicans THINK BUSH HAS DONE A GOOD JOB.
So, boo fucking hoo if you suddenly don’t like the big brush you formerly loved being painted with. If you’re one of the few with a shred of integrity who is being tarred unfairly, well, step up and say so. I’ll be happy to excuse you, but don’t expect much of a button.
Maybe a new Republican party can coalesce around those that did have any integrity, but it’s gonna be a pretty fucking small party.
CircleofWillis, it’s pretty obvious what choie meant. My guess is that you’re looking for your daily dose of RO wherever you can manufacture it.
And really, resorting to name calling? To me that pretty much directly translates to “I’m out of ideas.”
Hmm. On one hand, we have a number of Republicans who spout hateful rhetoric to cheering crowds, who then elect said Republicans to office on the strength of that rhetoric. On the other hand, we have a single far-left lunatic on a messageboard who is regularly condemned by people ostensibly on his own side of any given debate.
Yeah, that’s a valid comparison you’ve got there.
Finally… someone with the fucking stones to say what a blinded partisan shill they are. Congratulations.
Look… if you ARE blinded by your party allegiance then own it. Love it. Call it your own. If you really think that all republicans are bleating sheep then live with it. Recognition of your own ignorance is the first step to recovery.
I’m not here to change your mind. Fuck, I have a better chance of seeing Sarah Palin in her skivvies than I do of changing anyone’s mind here. But the disingenuousness (that may not even be a word) is bullshit.
At least be intelligent enough to know that, just because I don’t believe in the platform your party espouses or that I believe the best way to lead our country is not what your candidate proposes, doesn’t mean I am lockstep with every ideal that every person who purports to be a member of the party I support.
The party I support has a lot of work to do and alot of cleaning up to do, so does yours. There are some real fucking nut jobs out there from both sides. I will work within my party to change the philosophy and approach, you do the same. At least, however, have the intelligence to know that not every member of my party is a Coulter or Limbaugh or… what the fuck is the guy’s name?.. Hayes was it?.
If you do however make that assumption and assume that every member of your party has a firm grasp of reality and is the single most enlightened and intelligent member of the human race with farts that smell like Rolos, well then you are retarded and need a hockey helmet.
Explain to me the rules of “obvious”… It WASN’T obvious to me.
…and for the name calling… umm re-read and look for the first incident of “name calling”… (and not for nothing, but in the Pit, really? Name calling? That’s a first?)
Do you REALLY believe that there is only one left wing lunatic on a messageboard? He’s the ONLY one? Really?
Aw, Willis, you’ve got me all cryin’ on the inside about just how unfairly maligned you’ve been, being all associated with Republicans and everything.
It’s simple. Either you’re part of the solution or part of the problem. Since you’re ready to throw a romper stomper temper tantrum with all the mean names you know because someone didn’t specify just which Republicans are douchebags, I’ll assume you are part of the problem.
Why don’t you just get your binky and your blankie and go take a nap? Maybe later, at snack, you can look around to find out if the grown-ups made it all better.
Really? When choie said Republicans, you really think she(?) meant all Republicans? If I said that bricklayers came to my home this morning, would you really think that I meant every single bricklayer in the world?
Clue for the hard-of-thinking: choie meant a specific subset of Republicans. Glad I could clue you in.
