Republican Senate Candidate Sharron Angle Proposes Armed Insurrection If the Tea Party Loses

And you think that’s an excuse?

Cite for a Democratic nominee for a national position calling for armed insurrection vs. Bush?

You were gonna say it! We all know you were gonna, so why can’t you just admit it?

Well…I don’t know about totally okay. But I wouldn’t mind seeing a Senator or a lobbyist or two “disappear.” Hell, I’d settle for some tar-and-feathering. Anything to make these pricks remember who they’re supposed to be serving.

According to Joe Barton (R), that would be the poor, poor victims of a “shakedown”, BP.

I think if Mr. Barton were cornered by some Gulf coast residents and had some of that all-natural crude dumped over his fat head that he might change his tune.

Ah, and that way we could have some dipshit post a thread about a “Hard working GOP pol brutally attacked by chemically influenced Dem sympathizer”.

-Joe

I will have to give Mr. Barton credit, though: by Lazarus Long’s definition, he’s an honest politician – he stays bought when the going gets rough!

(Mostly) Serious question: I know armed insurrection and revolution is scary for most people, but could we all get on board with bringing back tar-and-feathering? Relying on rational discourse and the democratic process are nice ideals, but wouldn’t some painful and humiliating assaults on those in power speed things along? Would it really turn us into a society of brutes?

Can you imagine if images of Lloyd Blankfein being tarred and feathered were broadcast on CNN? The power of that image would be on the level of that Vietnamese monk who immolated himself. I hate to come off like some snotty undergrad anarchist, but that would be soooooo AWESOME!

Possible serious medical complications from that. How about we just bring back clapping 'em into the stocks and having the villagers jeer and throw rotten vegetables?

And the problem is?

That’s not intended as a shot at you. It’s intended as a response to something you said to me in another thread, ie–the difference between you and I is that I’m a partisan hack that puts ideology ahead of country. I replied when you said that I don’t think I do that. I called your name in this thread so you’d see it’s true. Sharron Angle is a Republican. She’s said some things I consider dumb shit, and I am not going to defend her or try to spin her comments into something positive just to fight with liberals.

I didn’t say you were good at it.

Yay, Oakminster.

I just want to hand out kudos to anyone who breaks rank with their ideology in the name of common sense.

There are too many lefties, righties, libbies (and …teapees?) who can’t let go of their cliches to actually listen. Or to even change some views based on reasoned debate.

So it’s great when it happens. Appropriate that it’d happen on a site that at least appreciates Fighting Ignorance.

(I picture Bricker or Evil One on one side, Der Trihs or maybe Monkey With A Gun on the other, waiting for the next thread to pop up like a jump ball just so they can throw their pre-conceived opinions at it)

Well, they have plenty of tar, who’s got the feathers?

Sue Lowden’s doctor.

thud-a-bump! ting!

Based on past oil spills, there will be a lot of shorebirds with pre-tarred feathers they won’t be needing any more. :frowning:

Judging on that I can confidently state that my dad (a registered Nevada voter) will not be voting for her.

Hey he’s a 72 year old retired grandfather with a bad back who really, really, really enjoyed the 60’s.

I like this idea. Bricks are vegetables, right?
