Even Donald Trump is better than the loathsome Ted Cruz.
But I’m still hoping for No More Republican Presidents. Until the party gets a bit saner. (I remember when they weren’t that bad.)

You know who else actually did stuff?!
I am in no way a Cruz supporter, and also do not speak for Clothahump . That being said, my impression of Cruz is that he is highly disciplined and intelligent. He also strikes me as someone who won’t put up with what he perceives as nonsense, who knows what he wants to accomplish as president, and if elected would implement his policies ruthlessly. The problem from my perspective as a liberal is that he is on the wrong side of the issues. I can see why a conservative would be attracted to someone with those qualities.
He’s talking about policy issues. On policy, Trump is barely a Republican. All his apparently extreme right-wing positions are purely red meat for the rubes.
But that doesn’t matter, because Trump if he were elected wouldn’t govern by his comparatively mainstream views. He’s a thundering ball of id, and would govern by bombast. That his so-called extreme views are all humbug is exactly wrong. What it means is that he doesn’t care anything about issues, it’s all personal to him. So there’s literally no telling what Trump would do if elected, other than he’s guaranteed to go off the rails. Cruz may be a true-believing right wing extremist, so if he got elected you’d know to expect a right wing president. Not with Trump.
