Republicans: What would it take to impeach Donald Trump?

The Dems should fight to keep Trump in. As VP, Pence doesn’t have much power no matter what Trump wants him to do.

Granted, Trump will probably sign whatever is shoved under his nose but it’s still better than Pence holding power.

According to the article you linked -

The Constitution’s “Emoluments Clause,” provides that “no person holding any office of profit or trust under” the United States “shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.”

Which office “of profit or trust” does Trump currently hold? It seems to me that you need to hurry over to Trump’s hotel and administer the oath of office as quickly as possible. However, lame-duck Obama might object.

So, he’ll stop whoring as soon as we actually marry him? Very reassuring.

‘About to do’ means ‘in the future’. I’m surprised they don’t teach that in school these days.

What elucidator said.

According to the linked article, the event took place Friday. Are you suggesting that they’re going back to the future?

*Friday evening, the Washington Post reported that about 100 foreign diplomats gathered at President-elect Donald Trump’s hotel in Washington, DC to “to sip Trump-branded champagne, dine on sliders and hear a sales pitch about the U.S. president-elect’s newest hotel.” The tour included a look at the hotel’s $20,000 a night “town house” suite. *

The incoming president, in other words, is actively soliciting business from agents of foreign governments.

I wonder what the author means when he says, “incoming president”? Is he suggesting that Trump is not currently in an office “of profit or trust”?

Have it your way. Next January, we’ll post a list.

True, but the money would come from the same source as the rest of his infrastructure plans-a huge increase in the deficit. The republican party is all in favor of increased deficits when their president is spending the money. It is only when there is a democratic president that deficits matter.
