Resident Alien, aka Quincy, E.T

Me, too.

Harry’s daughter’s previous starring roles are in films such as Young, Stalked, and Pregnant and My Daughter’s Psycho Friend. Yowza.

Live-action Invader Zim, basically.

I really liked the first season of this show, but I’ve kind of lost interest by now. The second season has seemed disjointed and aimless, with no real showrunner to keep things on track. Alan Tudyk only gets you so far - if the writing isn’t there, it’s just like junk food, without real substance. Alas.

(Just one guy’s opinion - I realize everyone else has different criteria that are important to them.)

I’m enjoying the second season, but I’m also not expecting much. It’s a sitcom, but a real sci-fi story. When taken for what it is, it can be very entertaining. Alan Tudyk is hilarious and I’m enjoying the rest of the cast as well. Harry having a daughter felt very Dexteresque.

I’d prefer much more focus on Harry, Asha, and the kids and less on the peripheral characters like the cops, mayor, etc.

Yeah, I agree with that.

major spoiler

After a fairly disposable previous episode, they abruptly kill off a main character!

I think that the death of the octopus was the funniest thing I’ve seen all year.

Wait a minute—hasn’t this thread always had open spoilers after airing? It wasn’t a mistake that I didn’t use spoiler tags, I took it for granted to be general practice. (And it was a joke spoiler to begin with.)

Sorry, no way to know it was a joke.
Spoilers were used early in the thread at least.
There is no indication in the Title or Op that there is open spoilers.

I didn’t even modnote, just made a polite request via Staff Notice.

I can change the title to add {Open Spoilers} if you like. Let me know.

I can use spoiler tags. I just personally live under the assumption to not read an ongoing thread about a current show if I haven’t seen the latest episode because there might be spoilers, and kinda took for granted that others did the same.

I usually practice that, but this is just about the only weekly show thread where I am subscribed.

If there’s going to be spoilers within 24-48 hours, I think it is best to warn people right in the title is all. That’s in general. Not just here of course.

On a personal note, I am sometimes flagged into threads on Shows or Movies I’m trying to avoid spoilers for as a Mod. So if the Open Spoilers bit is there, I can @ the other Café Mods to please take a look unless it is one of our nastier Trocks. That overrides worrying about spoilers.

I do the same thing of assuming there may be spoilers if I haven’t seen the newest episode.

BTW, the NYC arc has inspiration from the (deeply different, hugely inferior) comic.

Trailer for the August 10th return.

This is not some bullshit.

Great news! This is one of the few shows I really look forward to new episodes of.

Hey, did anyone know that season 2 of RA wasn’t over? 'Cause I didn’t, until today. There are 2 more episodes, the first to drop Aug 10th, because waiting 5 months to broadcast the last two episodes of the season makes perfect sense.

I’ll tell you what is some bullshit: Waiting until now to renew it for another season. SyFy sucks.

The delay was due to a COVID outbreak, not some weird network marketing idea.

The renewal was considered to be early by the trade news I saw on it. But I’m no expert on that part.
