Respringing into Spring?- A MMP

 No, don’t salt. I think that’s a pretty bad idea all around.

If you’re going to do a raised bed anyway, then cover the area of concern with a thick layer of newspapers - like half an inch thick or so. It will keep light from getting the the unwanted seedlings and it’s too heavy for any sprouts to push thru. It will degrade eventually - like in a couple of years.

Then you start with a raised bed on top full of fresh soil. Anyway, that’s how I’d handle it. But no salt!!

Good morning. It’s been a night of weird dreams involving various Dopers or imaginary internet friends, plus my dad (who’s been dead for 13 years) and, as happens, **FCD **and I were living in my childhood home, sorta. But I slept in, mostly, till 6:30 - yay!!

I just heard the shower come on. After we’re both presentably attired, we’ll head out for breakfast, which is good, because I’s stahvink!!! Then I need to finish the deviled eggs, **FCD **needs to bathe the dog, and I may do some raking, depending on how windy it is. No sense fighting Mother Nature over the location of some leaves.

Happy Saturday!!

It wasn’t another “execute **dogbutler **” dreams was it?:dubious:

A serious question for swampy: your Easter vigil sounds pretty much like the RCC version that I’m familiar with. Does this also extend to Easter duty, aka making confession sometime during the Easter season?

I’ve made the lemon ginger vinaigrette for the salad tomorrow and the aigs are cooling before satanizing. All that is left is doing up the quiche for the lunch rotation, making a spinach mandarin salad (I’ll do this tomorrow) and cleaning up the kitchen. I may take a ride this afternoon.

**doggio **- no, you weren’t there, but **Bumba **was! And Bib****Kitty. Both of whom I see on FB but not here.

Back from breakfast and erranding. I’ve got a load of towels in the washer and I’m about to empty the dishwasher. I looked up info on smoking a meatloaf, so I’ll get that going around noon. But before then, I’ll finish the eggs.

Busy busy busy!!

Blurf. Got up too late, like any other day.

Must work on my music today.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a cloudy 47 degrees outside, looks like rain.

I didn’t sleep again last night, then I fell asleep around 6am and slept until 9ish.

People are crazy they really are and I’d say more about it but you never know who reads here so I will have to wait until it is all over before I say anything.

Other than that SSDD

Dishes have been put away, and the towels are out on the line. It’s really windy - I used 3 clothespins per bath towel, just to be safe. I don’t want my clean towels blowing across the yard.

The eggs are done, except for having the filling squeezed out of the baggie. I’ll do that tomorrow at Mom’s. Next up is getting the smoker going. But I think I’ll listen to Wait Wait first - Paula Poundstone is on and she cracks me up!

So, break time!!

The aigs have been demonized and da cave is smellin’ hammerific. The Little Ol’ Lady casserole is made up as well. Go Me!

red although Confession and Absolution is a Rite of the Episcopal Church, one does not have an obligation to confess to a Priest. We do confess our sins (prayer of confession) on Sunday and receive absolution from the Priest. The prayer of confession is also said for any service that includes Holy Communion. The Episcopal meme when it comes to private confession is, “all may; none must; some should.”

I’ve been sprouting wheat seeds for Nikki to chew. I bought a new packet of seeds for cat grass, and they’re oats, not wheat. So I started a yin-yang bowlful of half & half, and I’m curious which will sprout faster, if she’ll show a preference, etc. My own personal science project.

And that has what to do with anything, now?

Stay away from the new [del]seal[/del] puppy!!

Follow this advice, don’t go all Biblical and salt your own earth!

You beat yourself up about that. A lot. Like, a LOT.

Midget, you need to stop beating yourself up over the little things. You’re a good person and a talented musician. You’re allowed to sleep in.

SSDI is filed, now to await what we hope is a “presumptive determination” or in SSA-speak, a PD from the QDD. Just be sure not to have too much SGA, or you’ll be SOL.

FIrst on six. Would Social Security peeps call that “successive to the final entry on the fifth?” Wouldn’t suprise me…

**gotti **- I think your acronym button is stuck.

I just finished loading the smoker - 2 hunks of chuck (one with rub and one with bbq sauce), a meatloaf, and a hunk of london broil We’ll see how it all goes.

Now I need to clean some strawberries, then bring in the towels from the line. It’s really WINDY!!! So everything dried pretty fast. Yay!

Emily, you’re a musician; you’re allowed to stay up late and rise accordingly.

gotti, in English please, for those of us who don’t speak government acronym. :stuck_out_tongue:

The kitchen is cleaned up, floors vacuumed, swept and mopped and a couple of bags of stuff beside the door to drop off at Goodwill. As a reward for my work this morning, I think I’ll get out on the bike this afternoon.

I LOLd. Sorry bout your govt. agency woes.

Gotti now that you are done YAY! I guess it’s too late to ask if somebody at SSA wold help you fill out the forms.

When my son’s father died the nice lady at the SSA did all the paper irk for me.
When I had my first heart attack and didn’t have insurance a social worker filled out all the forms for me, it took hours.

Today is give the dog a bath day. I hate bath day but Sah-son can’t do it by himself.

Too much to do today and not enough time to do it.

I wish people wouldn’t tell me things I don’t need to know, especially when such things involve illegal activity.

I’m Gentile as they come, but this was still a fun read. Rosie, Soapy, care to comment?

For the record, smoked meatloaf is yummy!!! Next time, I’ll use ground beef with a higher fat content - it was just a bit on the dry side. Plus I won’t smoke it as long - the directions said 3-4 hours, and I went for 4. Three would probably have been just right. But it still tasted good. And I’ve got 3 hunks of smoked beef in the freezer for future meals.

And on Monday, I get to clean the smoker! YAY!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

100% accurate (except, I can’t comment on the spouse thing, as I’m single :D)

Haha, thanks.

I will try to get up at a reasonable time tomorrow though, so I can get more done. Plus my mom is coming over. I hope it won’t be too awkward.

I’ve planned a chocolate feast for myself for tomorrow. Yum! I’m not eating any chocolate today, to make up for the sugar debauchery tomorrow.
