You’re correct, it is at the Carter Center (which includes the library and museum) in Atlanta. I don’t know of anything happening in Norcross but there could be things I don’t know about.
Why would anything be going on in Norcross? What is the significance of that city?
None related to Carter that I am aware of.
As a manufacturing engineering consultant I spent a fair amount of time in Norcross. There are factories in Norcross.
Thanks. And here I thought it was an empty town.
When I searched the map for Carter Center, it gave me an address in Norcross. That’s where that came from. So, not Norcross but Atlanta. Cool.
Added: yes, when looking for the Carter Center it’s at Carter Center, 5430 Jimmy Carter Blvd, Norcross GA.
So, he’s not laying in state at the Carter Center…?
The address of the Carter Center is 453 John Lewis Freedom Parkway NE, Atlanta, according to their own website.
Based on a Google Maps search, the “Carter Center” in Norcross appears to be a shopping center.
I get 453 Jon Lewis Freedom Parkway NE Atlanta GA for the Carter Center
Okay got it, thanks for clarifying.
Anyone else watching the state funeral? I’m not at all religious, but it’s very moving. And good to see that he gets the respect he deserved. Including attendance by almost every living former president, first lady, vice-president and spouse, along with many others. (Michelle Obama is not present, though.)
President Carter’s funeral
Who is the guy with the short beard and the scarf who is sitting next to Amy Carter?
Actually, who are all of the people in that row?
(Originally asked in MMP. I forgot about this thread.)
Watching.
That group of presidents and VPs just makes me wanna cry.
Her husband is John Joseph Kelly. Google him for a photo.
I did. I couldn’t find one.
his kids range from oldest jack at 77 and youngest amy 57(?). i believe it is jack in the scarf, he looks a lot like his dad.
1947-1967 are the years of his kids. there are 30+ decedents.
here is a more in depth article.

the remembrances were wonderful.
The guy to her right (camera-left) has a shorter beard and looks thinner. (My inability to recognise faces and names is a common theme when we’re watching movies here.)
A little weird to hear Gerald Ford and Walter Mondale’s eulogies read by their sons.
One of the CNN talking heads mentioned that there is a member of FDR’s family in attendance (I think a grandchild) along with a member of every presidential family since then.
