Restaurant chains that serve only one meat

Are there many left? Shake Shack sells chicken sandwiches. 5 Guys has hot dogs. Even Chick-Fil-A has bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches now. Culver’s sells meats that trot, fly and swim. The only around here that comes to mind is Cane’s chicken fingers who not only sell only chicken but only one cut. Bacon topping is OK as it is not the primary meat. And no it ain’t no newspeak protein. It’s meat.

In and Out Burger, maybe? Does Arkansas have a Gator R Us?

There’s a place called Raising Cane’s that only sells chicken fingers. Meals include fries and coleslaw, some sauce and piece of bread. I went there with a friend who loves chicken fingers but we both were knocked over by how pathetic the food choices were. They were OK chicken fingers, that’s it. Maybe this was started in mall food courts or something but I can’t imagine the stand alone restaurant I went to getting enough business to survive.

I, too, opened this thread to mention Cane’s, but unlike @TriPolar , I read the OP and saw they were already mentioned. Yup, not bad as chicken fingers go, but horribly overpriced.

There might still be some only-hot-dog places around, but the only ones I can think of offhand are all one-offs, not chains.

What about other chicken places? KFC might have bacon as a topping on some items, but I don’t think they have any primary meat that’s not Gallus gallus.

Popeye’s has seafood offerings but KFC (at least per their online menu) looks to be all chicken.

Pollo Loco only has Chicken.

I looked up H. Salt and they apparently have things like corn dogs and chicken bowls now.

Yes, In-N-Out still maintains their famously simple menu, just burgers, fries, and shakes.

Actually, El Pollo Loco recently added a shredded beef quesadilla to their menu.

There seems to be a surge in “chicken finger” fast food joints that only serve breaded chicken strips, usually in a variety of hot spices. Besides the aforementioned Raising Canes we also have Dave’s Hot Chicken and Flip the Bird.

I note that when Boston Market started out, it was Boston Chicken, snd chicken was the only meat it served. McDonald’s originally only served ground beef hamburgers. Over time these places tend to branch out and try other types.

You can add Wingstop to the list of chicken-only places. You can get bone-in wings, boneless wings, or a sandwich, but it’s all chicken.

KFC is running ads for a once-a-week special of chicken fried steak at “participating locations”. Apparently not available for online ordering.

Fried chicken and related chicken restaurants have long been one meat operations. Early burger places were also. This was the basis of the original fast food restaurant model.

Raising Cane’s (which I would have recognized in the OP if I remembered how it was spelled before looking it up and the word Raising had been used (BTW: Cane is a dog)), is unusual these days not because they offer only one meat, but only one form of that meat, the ‘chicken finger’. I’ve never been to a chicken wing restaurant, maybe they do the same, but I’d imagine at least different flavoring of the wings, at least a hot and mild version.

Hot Dog on a Stick’s only meat offering is a hot dog (on a stick), although they do offer a veggie or cheese option

And, surprising, I think they have the best chicken sandwich of any of the fast food places, including Chick Fil A. Speaking of, I don’t think Chick Fil A sells any meat protein beyond chicken.

I was going to say the same. Here in Arkansas, we had Slim Chicken’s restaurants popping up and more recently Raising Cane’s both of which specialized in chicken fingers but at least one does sandwiches now .

…pork hot dogs, or beef hot dogs?

All-beef Vienna hot dogs from Chicago. WHOOPS – that’s Shake Shack. I just realized. Five Guys is all-beef from Hebrew National.

“My favorite meat is hot dog, by the way. That is my favorite meat. My second favorite meat is hamburger. And, everyone says, oh, don’t you prefer steak? It’s like, I know steaks are great, but I like hot dog best, and I like hamburger next best.”Mitt Romney

Ergo hot dog and hamburger are different meats.

Raising Cane’s has sandwiches, but their sandwich is just their chicken fingers on a bun.

I would so go to a place called Flip The Bird!
Chicken is quite popular.
I prefer when a place doesn’t have a huge menu.
:poultry_leg:

That reminds me of former President Bush in the Krusty Burger drive thru on the Simpsons.

They now have bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches.
