Thursday bump.
I might not be able to play tonite, I have to get up at 4AM tomorrow and drive a few hundred miles to consume massive quantities of alcohol. Depends on if I get all my chores done by game time. Either way, I’ll let you know (but I’d really rather play…)
I’m in for tonight.
Last weekend, I went to stateline (Nevada) and played on a 2-6 (any amount between 2-6, any round). I ended up losing $38 over a 7 hour period even though I knocked out 3 players. I found out later that I was playing against 3 paradise poker players although I played even against 2 of them and was ahead of the third one. Had a lot of fun though. One of them claimed he is a professional player, but I think he was full of crap…and a little drunk too. The other 2 guys were good players though.
Well, I’m taking off an hour early from work so I can get my stuff ready and still make the game… Priorities I tell ya…
Glad to hear you held your own in the casino…do you play much in real life, or was this an uncommon occurence??

At least I can take solace in knocking out Duke of Rat. He was threatening to move up the aristocracy to become King of Poker. I do feel for you though…it sucks to be out-kickered by one pip.

What happened last night Gabe? CynicalGabe disappeared from the table while he was doing well, so unfortunately since no one else was out at the time, I have to give him last place. Sorry Gabe. At least you helped me break my streak. I’m saving all my thunder for the next quarter.
With only two more games to be played this quarter, it looks like Duke of Rat is a shoe-in for champ. The race for second place on the other hand is neck and neck. The next two games should be pretty exciting.

Thanks guys for the game. I was just as startled as you were Nanook when I pulled out a straight on the river…I was already hitting myself for giving you a chance to double up with those Jacks when I only had sevens. Fortunately, my other card was a Ten that fit well with the King high straight. I sat there wondering for about 3 seconds saying “What the hell happened?” until I looked at all the cards…I’m on the good side of the river! Ah well, next week is a chance for revenge.

Well, I dropped about 1.5 points in a week by finishing 6th. So it looks like just a couple of those and a couple of wins by the 4.xx boys would put me well into the middle of the pack.
