If CapnPitt comes in first in both games, his final score will be 3.36 pts. I officially take back my shoe-in comment. 
The only way for Duke of Rat to guarantee himself the championship this quarter is to simply miss the next two games. Hmmm.

And I just remembered! Today is my birthday, I could legally claim I was going out partying and miss this week…nah. I’m pretty much partyed out after last weekend. That and I’m so old now I don’t celebrate anymore…except that I’m still above ground.

OMD…Again, great game last night. I walked into a lion’s den with a BB gun on that hand. The flop seemed harmless to me. I was holding 2 clubs (8c,5c I think) and the flop I think was the (6d,6s,Qc). I had the backdoor flush draw and a straight draw going. So I stuck around for a small bet. I’m pretty sure the turn was 7c, making my hand an open-end straight draw AND keeping my club flush draw intact (what’s that…a 15-out draw?..gotta keep betting.). Another bet was made and called. I hit the flush with another club. Went all in. Thought you were going to fold. Didn’t see what hit me until I did the hand review…you had Q6! Full House! YOU BASTARD! You slowplayed me like a pro!
Other notes:
Moving to the new table (with higher blinds) created by the players who were already out was a great idea…almost went off without a hitch. It put last night’s game into high gear, because were actually fighting for the blinds more often.
If you can manage it Xray, maybe you should keep quarter and annual stats so we will have a player of the year and player of the quarter (x4). I know you were also mentioning about a real money tournament…maybe a micro tournament on a private table…I would consider it.
May I also suggest that we start a new thread for next quarter? It might draw other Dopers to it, and then discover that we are starting with a clean slate and they might decide to jump in then. Just a suggestion.
If Duke goes down early in next week’s game, then it looks to be a free-for-all. Sorry Duke, I hate to say this, but you must go down early!

By moving to a higher blind table before the heads up…there were 4 players last night…it would be advantageous to have a little more money in your stack at the move. I think I had like $1100 and got the BB right off. I played and probably shouldn’t have and then drew (and shouldn’t have) once I realized how much I was in for. Lost 1/2 my stack quickly.
So with this format I’ll need to get it on earlier to have a couple more BB under my belt when we move.
I actually went into the new increased blind game with $1010…I believe I was in 4th place at that time and I was pushing for the new table… :smack:
Yeah, I just fugged up by not really paying attention and losing a good portion of my pile right off.
Good idea. I’ll take the average of everyone’s final score each quarter and average them out at the end of the year to determine who is Player of the Year. Player of the Year should have to play in at least three games every quarter.
If everyone else is interested, I’m all for it. We can play at Pokertropolis for .99 a game with an initial deposit of 20.00.
I got my ass chewed by a mod for starting this one to replace the last one. We better just deal with this one even though it starts out with a load of rules we never use.
I agree. Next time we should wait until only two are left before a move is made and it should either be a firm rule or something that the last two could negotiate on their own.
Sorry I missed last week’s game. By the way, spending spring break in rainy 35 degree Nebraska wasn’t as exciting as I’d hoped.
