Boy, didn’t take long for an update tonite! 
Great BATTLE this time, guys were playing like their rent money was on the line.
This may be for nothing but play money and braggin’ rights, but this sure is a great table of guys to sit in with. Over 3 hours with a $1K stake, there were several still in after 2 hours.
Lots of fun, glad to see X Ray finally get his due.
Congrats to xray, it was a long time coming. I’m ready for next week already.

Not to tamper with perfection, but I know some people were complaining about people calling a lot last week. The only suggestion I came up with (other than adjust your preflop play accordingly) is to start with higher blinds. Personally, I don’t think we need to, but if there’s even a remote majority that is in favor of this I wouldn’t have a problem with it. In other words, I ain’t sayin’…I’m just sayin’.
I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately. Fair warning, that ends tonight.
I suggested higher blinds two weeks ago. I’m definately in favor of it.
I’m in as usual.
Maybe I was just concentrating on losing, but I don’t remember anyone complaining about people calling. So I’m not sure what problem higher blinds are meant to correct. Is the game lasting too long? People do seem to be playing tight more often then they did in earlier games.

We upped the blinds tonight a little. The game only went a little more than an hour. Congrats Capn Pitt!

Wow, Yeti made 3rd and 7th. Pretty impressive. 
Seriously thanks for the game guys. I know the higher blinds made me play differently, but that’s neither a good nor bad comment; just a simple statement. As always, I’m game for however you guys want to set the rules.
Now, to pat myself on the back, I was really happy with how I played last night. I made sure that the bluffs I got called on didn’t cost me much, I threw away hands I had no business playing, and the couple traps I set worked out perfectly (I will cherish Yeti’s AIM screaming fit for a long time 
). And I won without being the bald guy!
But enough about me…it really is a pleasure to play with you guys.

Yeah, you bitch-slapped me on that one, Capt. That was one of 4 big blunders I made last night. Going all in on a pair of 8’s was just foolish looking back on it, but the community cards looked harmless (8 high junk) and I went all in with my A8… until your 6 was revealed, completing a straight. I thought you needed that 8 (river card) also for the straight, but I was told that your other card was an 8 also…meaning that you had the straight on the flop!

Thank you…thank you very much. I can’t remember exactly how that went, but I know I didn’t hit the belly buster until the turn. I made some pathetic little raise, you reraised, and then I put you all in. A Slow Playing Bastard, that’s me.
Looks like Capn and Kyy have the best averages so far… 2nd and 6th leaves me square in the middle. The move to higher blinds did speed the game up, no 3 hr marathon last night.
So congrats to CapnPitt, I think I liked you better as the fat, bald guy.

Pokerroom does something weird with newbies though. It has you originally with both real and play money enabled. After a few days (don’t know how many…xray?) if you don’t put real money in you’ll go to play only (which is where you need to be).
Also we do most of our chatting on AIM so it might behoove you to get that if you don’t already (and let xray or all of us know your AIM screen name).

And don’t be like me. For various reasons, I’m asterion on SDMB, adamanthaea on PokerRoom, and j24882 on AIM. Poor guys have to keep up with three screen names just to deal with me.
Sam, good to see you sign up with us…you’re gonna have fun even if it’s play money…SDMB bragging rights are much more valuable. Yeah, go get AIM, otherwise we’ll be saying bad things about you behind your back. Before next Thursday night (10pm EDT, 7pm PDT), go screw around on pokerroom and join some ring games and even some tournament games (play money ones), so you can get a feel and navigate around the site.
xray, how about an annual update? Or are we requiring 12 games for each player to be considered?
